Bonnie Penner's funeral.

This is about values and the imposition of values and the will to impose those Islamic values on non-Muslims everywhere. In other words, a war against Humanity.

Ok I'm being serious here.

Lets say that Islam is the biggest danger in the world today, and that almost all Muslims want every other belief system in the world destroyed. Lets say that's true and the world needs to wake up and fight back.

The problem then is that there are over One Billion Muslims on earth.

I am serious when I ask this.

Do you want a Holy War? Do you want the Islamic faith wiped out? That would be a genocide on a scale the world has never seen.

I truly believe that you believe that most Muslims and fundamentalists like The Taliban, but what is your solution the that problem?

The only effective way to end the extremist hold on Islam is for the moderate muslims to effectively marginalize the extremists and to take back the public face of their religion. The problem is some actually side with the extremists and those who don't know they would more than likely become the next to be executed for being a traitor to Islam. There is no easy answer.

Far be it from me to interpret gs's work, but I don't think he is calling for extermination.

Right now this is how the press perpetuates fear. You either have victim status or perpetrator status in the eyes of the press.

For example, people who borrowed more than they can pay back are victims. People who loaned them the money are perps.

I simply think people are tired of the polarization, the way it manipulates perception, and the legislation/need for amends that follows.

There is little doubt in my mind that the press "softens" its coverage on extreme Muslim violence in order to keep them in the "victim" category. It is a very dangerous half truth they are telling.

Interesting question.

Do you mean individually or collectively??

Truer words were never spoken.

Here you go Lex, I ran across this;

"Hastiness and superficiality are the psychic diseases of the 20th century, and more than anywhere else this disease is reflected in the press."
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

(and sometimes message boards!) :)

if you don't think that there isn't a Holy War going on now then you're blind

I don't know so much about that, one could say; "an unholy war is being waged upon us."

Here is an excerpt from Solzhenitsyn:

"the failure to understand the radical hostility of Communism to mankind as a whole—the failure to realize that Communism is irredeemable, that there exist no “better” variants of Communism; that it is incapable of growing “kinder,” that it cannot survive as an ideology without using terror, and that, consequently, to coexist with Communism on the same planet is impossible. Either it will spread, cancer-like, to destroy mankind, or else mankind will have to rid itself of Communism (and even then face lengthy treatment for secondary tumors)."

One could just easily insert 'islam' in the place of communism and have an equally true statement.

As a matter of fact socialists of all stripes have partnered up with islamists for quite sometime to further mutual goals.

Solzhenitsyn also said something like this; "When the west is faced with an assault of bare-fanged barbarism, all it seems capable of doing is to smile squeamishly and make concessions." (does that remind you of dhimmah cahtah or what?)

Solzhenitsyn blames this on secularism, materialism, and liberalism.

Clearly the solution is to use quotes from dead people to convince them to change their mind.
