Well by the time it reaches the Knox County area it will be nothing more than a Tropical Depression with winds dying rapidly, outside of the gusty winds caused by the isolated thunderstorm activity. The real threat is the rainfall. This system is expected to be shallow by the time it gets to the foothills and a developing high pressure system in it's path will cause it to stall against the southern appalachians which will cause local flooding. The only thing that I see as being a problem will be if it really slows it's forward momentum and stalls further south than forecast. The latest forecast has it moving further north than originally thought, I wish it would move east! I almost cancelled my flight, hotel, car and all to not come but with the majority of the rain to hopefully occur late Friday and pass early in the day on Saturday the chance of rain will decrease during the evening hours. Keep your fingers crossed.
Bring on the G-A-Y-tors!
