OK everyone, we all know what kind of disaster is about to unfold in the New Orleans area. We have a couple of posters down in that area, that may very much need our assistance.

Not everyone can get down there, to help with clean-up, but everyone can spare a few dollars so that we can send our friends some money whenever they get home, and need the financial support.

Estimates are that 50,000 people could die, and that the French Quarter could no longer exist. I estimate that U-T and others from that area may be offline for quite awhile, so we have some time to add to the fund.

Please send whatever amounts you can, as often as you can, until Freak lets us know that he is ready to send our friends the money.

IF God blesses our personal friends and they somehow do not need our money then we will donate the money to a general fund that will most deffinately be set up in the wake of this very scary storm for others in the area.

Please be generous and send whatever amounts that you can.

This is how to do it:

Go to Pay Pal and follow the instructions.

It's quick and easy. Free to sign up for an account so that you can send the money with your bank or credit card.

When asked what e-mail to send it to, please use vol_freak@yahoo.com as the address. This will give this board's Admin the money into his account, and then he can send the money.

Thanks, and remember where we get our name Tennessee fans, we are and will always be VOLUNTEERS!!!!!

Thanks for pinning this Freak.

I just lost 880.00 to an internet scam trying to buy season tickets, but I get paid in a few days and I will send my first payment then.

Is no one doing this, or just not talking about it.

I thought it was a great idea, but if no one is doing it, it is probably better we just take the thread down and let people do their own thing.

I think everyones still amazed by the magnitude of it. Today i even tried to contact the Red Cross for info on where and when they will be drop off containers/Bins etc.
Dry/Canned foods, clothing, childrens needs and so on.

Blood drives in the tri-cities are springing up to help out. I think right now as a whole things are being done.

Once our members are able to get back and atleast let everyone know they are ok, and what it is they could really use the help with. You'll see this PIN be a Great Idea.

I don't mean to sound selfish or exclusive, but I'd rather help la.lovesorange and U-T directly than through a general fund like the Red Cross.

That was the plan unless they refused it, or if they would have been lucky enough not to need it themselves.

That was my point as well, But until "our" members are able to atleast drop in and let someone know their own situations, our hands are tied.

Are they safe now? Are they somewhere that they could recieve funds? Right now it doesnt look like money is any good!
Where would they spend it?
Are they somewhere that personal care packages could be recieved?

Its very relieving now to hear the best help you could ask for is in full force.
Im not sure what the Commander in Chief was dragging his feet about? The U.S needs help, Our very best as been cut loose.

yeah sending things like bottled water and non-perishables would sound more appropriate for our bord friends , my money is going to the Red Cross, but would be glad to try to get food and clothing to our friends on here.

In addition to supplies and money, we need to be doing the most important thing, praying for these people.
