Don't underestimate the possibility that Hurricane Rita may be an issue for your game. I live in Florida and pay attention to the models and what they are doing and so far they are all trending further to the north once Rita gets into the Gulf.
Here are what we call the spaghetti models on her:
One of the meteorologists who posts on a site I frequent for hurricane inside scoop stuff had a house in Mississippi. He got back on the board the other day and was talking about how he found the second floor of his house two blocks from where it started. The bottom floor is just plain gone.
He says it doesn't matter if another storm hits Mississippi coast because everything is gone already. But, if another one hits N.O., with the levees already weakened ...
Current Baton Rouge forecasts are for unseasonably hot temperatures all week in the 95-97 degree range with high humidity. Today was a record high for September 19. By Saturday they are predicting scattered thunderstorms in the area which will drop the temperatures to the 86-88 degree range, but raise the humidity to near 100%.
It could be a rain game.
Hurricane Ritas is tracking to Texas and is not currently expected to take a northward move due to a high building over Louisiana this week.
this hurricane rita i believe is suppose to make land fall this weekend sometime! In texas or possible louisana!! how will it effect the game!! and if it does hit lousiana which god i hope not!! But will the game be played there!??????? I mean i understand nobody knows but whats some thoughts??
I said something about this earlier nobody seemed to care!! If its even close to lousiana they will be people that will be evacuating to everyhwere and if its close id say air ports will be closed!!!
they cant have the game there if its close. I mean not with us flying in there that day!!!! and its not like if we get stranded we have somewhere to sleep. Im not saying that mean so dont take it defenesive. I understand alot of people dont have a place to stay! But it will be interesting to see what they do!
