The technology surely could be upgraded, no?

I know $$$$$$ is the major factor but long term a good investment?

As long as the regulator will let them and it's profitable, they will (awaits gs's crazy cartoon on EPA). They are as focused on the long term profits as anybody.

Nuclear plants haven't been built for 40 years. But nuclear energy power supplied has gone up due to capacity factors going from 50 to 90+%. That's money in the bank.

The biggest problem I have with hydro is the theft of land that precedes the building of the dams. If you could eliminate that, I would be more for it.

Not enough electricity generated by water. The capacity just is not there.

Side note is water prices in TN.

we live near two gigantic lakes in Nashville and water prices are insane.

My water bill each month is over 300 hundred dollars and I freaking live on a lake.

I can not figure out why water is almost 50% more costly here than in Ohio and they have no real lakes.

No real lakes besides that little pond called Lake Erie.

I lived in Columbus and Lake Erie is north of Cleveland.

Columbus used water from a tiny lake by the zoo and olentangy river.

Hendersonville is on a lake that is manmade due to bakcing up cumberland river.

Brentwood and most of nashville is by PP lake.

Lake Erie is not used to provide water to columbus ohio.
