I wanted to start a thread on all the people who are exposing themselves as idiots.

My first award goes to Maya Angelou, way to bawl about what a monumental day it is for you when you endorsed Clinton.

It's weird Monterey...but I can kind of see it in some aspects. She may have not thought he was the best guy for the job, but that had nothing to do with his color. However, the fact that someone of his (and her) color finally made it to the highest office in our country is likely very meaningful and significant to her. I guess what I am saying is ... not so much that Obama is now president-elect.... but more that "it can actually happen." I can see a dualism to it....does that make any sense? I'm not necessarily sure the pride has to be hypocritical, unless she is gushing that he will be the best president ever or something.

MA was much more hypocritical in the piece I saw about the Concorde - she took a flight on it and was discussing how wonderful it was blah blah blah all about the same time she was talking about economic justice, etc. That flight wasn't cheap but it was another do as I say not do as I do moment.

24% of Americans voted based on race. Of the 24%, 69% were white voting against Obama.

America may not be nearly as racist as it was in the 60s, but it is still there. Dismissing it is quite naive

A poll that subjective would be worth just about as much as the paper the results were written on.

What? Obama helped him win his seat, he went against Obama and now he is probably going to lose any power in the senate.

ahh, so Lieberman should give up years of friendship with McCain to repay a political favor from Obama that he didn't need in the first place?

Uhm, yeah he did need it, he actually asked for it. And no he shouldn't have to go against McCain but he should not have bashed Obama enroute.
