say we beat uab (which we should) . then we go to florida... we beat florida... then we go to LSU and win.....then beat ole miss and georgia and then alabama and south carolina.... and USC is undefeated at this point as well.. do you all think we will pass them in the BCS to #1.. ALL know we should but how do u think it would play out.

I think that everyone is going to want USC to win 3 in a row and the only way to get past them is to beat them.

It will be interesting to see. I hope we get the chance.

I do know that if we get to 3-0, we will receive an AP first place vote. Jimmy Hymns (who voted us 6th preseason) said that if we go 3-0, he will vote us Number one, because at that point, there won't be a team with a more impressive group of wins.

If we go 3-0 we will definitely get some votes but I doubt it would be enough to move into first.

AGree. But, wins at Gainesville and Baton Rouge (back to back) will open some peoples eyes. They will be ready to move UT up when Texas falls (keyword: WHEN).

we will get some votes but not enough. the media thinks usc is the greastest thing since sliced bread.

I'm agreein' with brian!! Being number 2 'til the end of the season would suit me just fine.. Then let's GET IT ON!!! Gotta beat UAB first... Had to come back to earth.. 6 days 'til FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE!!! :yahoo:

not necessarily... we could pass them if we had enough votes.. last year auburn almost past oklahoma but they just couldnt get over the hump.. all it takes is a crappy performance by USC in one or two games they should win heavily and i think it could happen

Gunner is right.....the pollsters love USC so much that they will have to lose more than likely....keyword....Auburn ALMOST passed OU....but they didnt....the pollsters r gonna go with who they like until that team screws up....everyone knows Auburn should have passed OU...

guys here is something you all better think about too. If Texas does find a way to beat OSU (ohio) and OU they will stay above us. They shouldn't but the media loves them too. Also if the Buckeyes win out they too will stay ahead of us (they will have Texas and Michigan). It makes me mad but it is the truth. The SEC (unless it is UF) will get the shaft if comes down to either the Big 10 or 12. I can hear it now. They will say that LSU had injuries and a new coach and the Meyer has not had enough time and that both had "unrealistic expectations" so neither of our wins are as impressive as Texas or OSU. Plus either Texas or OSU will get a big win with a ton of Heisman talk after week two and we are idle. I hate to say it but who ever wins that game will be ahead of us and unless they lose we are in trouble.

I think if us and USC are both 7-0 then I think we would have a good chance of going ahead of them in the BCS. If if does its job we should jump them because we have several more tough games than they do. In the coaches and AP I don't think that we have a chance of jumping them. Know one has a reason to put USC any lower than number 1 until they lose a game.

I think the odds are slim to none for us to jump USC unless they lose. They are a media darling, in a major market with lots of support from the press, and a great story with the whole 3 (uh... 2) peat thing.

We might start picking up some votes, but too many voters live by the theory that you don't demote the defending champion from #1 until someone beats them on the field.

By the same token however, I don't think anyone would jump us if we win out, so assuming Texas loses, if we win out we should be playing in the Rose Bowl.

I hope we win every game. I get so nervous just thinking about it. I think if we win out, and play USC we will beat them. I know they have talent, but they don't have a schedule worth spitting on. WE WILL BEAT USC. :rock: :rock: :rock:

Part of me hopes for three or four teams to be undefeated (not impossible). We have got to have a playoff. This BCS thing is just plain stupid, no matter how you slice it.

I guarantee you that if UT, USC and either Texas or Ohio St all three go undefeated we will be the Auburn this year. USC no exp. needed. Texas or OSU will get ALL of the media love and let's not forget the amount of influence that ESPN has on votes! Remember Peyton and Woodson? they will show highlight after highlight of Either Texas or OSU and all we will hear is how they beat top quality teams. If we win out I will bet you all that I have, excuses will be 1. Meyer got us so early that his team didn't know his Offense yet. 2. LSU was not as good since they did not have a QB plus a new coach and new system. I don't like it but I have watched these guys enough to know them well. SO all we can do is win out then cuss them out if needed.
