but I must admit I'm glad his departure has put Greg Anthony on the mic for CBS. Having Kellogg, Raftery, and Anthony gives that network 3 superb analysts.

I wouldn't have figured you to be a fan of Raftery's, given his excessive use of catchphrases, considering what you think of Vitale's act.

Not that Raftery is as outrageous as Vitale, but still.

I feel much the same about Raftery that I do Vitale. Just filter out the silliness and you'll get some excellent analysis. I've listened to both of them long enough now that I'm almost immune to the catchprases and lame comedy.

I am quite shocked to hear that Hat is a fan of Packer.

I too am glad he is off the mic.

And glad they are keeping Gus Johnson fully employeed. He could put you on the edge of your seat reporting the Slowskys eating dinner.

all packer does is say exactly what's on his mind...and there's no filter on it. if he thinks it, chances are he'll say it. his son does the afternoon sports show here and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Greg Anthony is really, really good. Packer stayed way too long. He was terrible.

I think Avery Johnson has the best voice in bb and should get more mic time......

I'll miss having Kellogg do studio analysis the first two rounds of the tourney. But replacing Packer with Kellogg as the lead bb announcer is a HUGE upgrade for CBS.

His MMA calls are awful.

But then again, so is everything about MMA.

This post is awful. Are you a boxing fan or something? Johnson's MMA calls are terrible as well as the Canadian guy from EXC. Mauro Renallo, I think. You can't beat Joe Rogan when it comes to MMA analysis. Bas Ruten, Randy Couture and Frank Mir are good as well.

His son is unbearable. I had to stop listening.

With all due respect, I'm shocked to here a basketball enthusiast, like yourself, say those words. The man was an ASSISTANT coach for 4 years at WF and he somehow becomes a self-proclaimed expert on the game, criticizing some of the most respected coaches in the history of the game about their decision making and strategy. He doesn't know any more about the game then the men that have sat next to him over the years. Even Dick Vitale has a better resume as a coach. The change was long overdue.

Doug Gottlieb has no coaching experience to speak of. That doesn't stop him from making Tom Brennan, who was a head coach forever, from looking like a fool every time they are on the air together.
