Malzahn is getting the most out of his roster.

It's obvious that Jones isn't getting the most out of his.

The truth is he may very well be. I don't like being negative toward the young men who make the sacrifice and put in the years of effort to play football at this level however, we continue to consistently see fundamental errors that make it rather obvious we do not have the talent to play at an SEC level. By all accounts, Coach Jones is making every effort to remedy the problem.

I stopped reading when the OP said best staff in the country. I find it hard to believe that the best staff in the country has been at Cincy for the past 3 years.
I think BJ is the man for the job , but he should of surrounded himself around better coaches.
It wouldn't be a stretch to say they're the best staff in the country when it comes to recruiting. What they do with the talent they brought in will show what they're truly capable of.

It's funny, I could just copy paste this into 90 percent of the threads in our football forum and it would be irrefutable:

"We have the toughest schedule in the country with a team that has seen 3 head coaches, and thrice the amount of position coaches."

**** y'all.

Wait... Do I need to turn on my sarcasm meter?

I really don't care unless that involves you breaking your computer or walking into the woods & getting lost.

Malzahn is a second-year head coach. Jones has won four conference championships in seven years as a head coach. You can be a smart___ all you'd like, but facts kill your argument just like it does most arguments on this board against Jones.

The defense that played against SC and UGA has not shown up the last three weeks.

The effort hasn't been there in the form of poor tackling that is so absurd that even the announcers are heckling the team now.

The execution hasn't been there in that the team that was able to keep Shaw in check running the ball just got their throats stepped on by Nick Marshall.

The discipline hasn't been there across the board as a team as stupid mental mistakes continue to pile up in the form of penalties.

You mention fundamental errors, well the fundamentals are something any coach should be able to get across to his players and Jones and his staff have been inconsistent at best at it this season.

The best staffs in America have one common theme, consistency.

Really? That's your flawed logic?

It's people like you that make me agree with idiots like Clay Travis. A more fickle fan base does not exist.

If there is one guy in sports radio I'd like to break my foot off in, it's Clay Travis... I can't stand that over enunciating, pot-stirring, fan boy...

I am not contradicting your points, in fact I tend to agree with you. The difference being, what I know or have seen of Butch Jones tells me he will correct the problems we have seen when he has the tools to work with. Our present roster, which to their credit, is comprised of players who have endured years of sub par coaching. If every talented player in collegiate football could excel with one year of solid coaching you would see rosters comprised of 4 year lettermen. There are exceptions, but not many.

Me either. That was kinda my point. These people are acting so foolishly that it makes me agree with that blowhard.

You do realize Malzahn was the reason Auburn won the NC

When he left, they hit rock bottom

Look at the difference in the schedule between last year and this year. If anybody wants to criticize Butch Jones theyÂ’re crazy. The man is working with a team in his 1st year and isnÂ’t expected to win them all. Yes I too have gotten ill when they lose but itÂ’s going to take time. Derek Dooley had Tennessee for 3 years and last year had LOADS of talent on offense. He had a great O Line, Tyler Bray wasnÂ’t a bad QB, and they had killer receivers. Butch Jones lost a lot of those players to the NFL Draft and has to work with this program from the ground up. Dooley had worked with these guys for 3 years and failed to win a game against a rank team.

The team has had some points this year (Against Georgia) when they looked good and played hard and then times against Missouri when itÂ’s like they didn't show up. Do you think anybody else after playing a schedule as grueling as TennesseeÂ’s would be fairing any better.

I believe in Butch Jones and what heÂ’s doing at Tennessee and I believe heÂ’ll get them back to the top of the SEC East.

Please line up nick marshall and connor shaw. Marshall will smoke his slow runnin tale.

Once again, i was at the game and we didnt have a guy on the field that could catch marshall or thier return man.

Did we miss tackles? Yes but thats not the whole story coach.

BTW we had 5 penalties for the game. They had 1. The 15 yarder was a horses*** call.

you'll become numb to it..just give it time little one

I agree. Sunshine pumpers live healthier lives by just accepting the way things are. Kind of like the knight on the Holy Grail that kept screaming, "It's just a flesh wound!" It didn't bother him. He kept going. And, after we lose to Vandy, we need to keep going, too.

My wife saw her first game in neyland in several years. First thing she said after a few minutes was how slow we were compared to tv.

Fair weather fans?? KMA

I've been watching this crap for 5 years. Folks like me aren't fair weather fans. We are the ones that demand excellence that fans like you take for granted.

We are Tennessee. We don't belong down here with vandy and Kentucky. These games should be automatic wins. Not praying to win games.

Smh.
Simply out of touch with our talent level.....simply out of touch!

And how did lack of talent, lack of depth and lack of speed enable the Vols to be So Car. and almost beat Ga?

So in some games those things matter and some games they don't.

lol its called when they.win cbj.coached them up n when they lose they r dools players that have no talent.. but when dools was recruiting the 2 n 3 stars that wanted to/wear the orange these same sheep stated we didnt need 4/stars because dools was going to coach.them up..lol

on best coaching staff... laughable at this point.. good recruiters yes great game planners not so much....they r learning on the job:rock:
