Does anyone really believe last year's coaching staff would have been 4-6 this year if they had been retained?

I am not sure if they beat anyone but Peay, frankly.

And if he had stayed at arkansas after the nutt debacle, Alabama very well would be chasing arkansas year in and year out for the top of the west.

The man can coach.



I'm not against jones. But the man is going to have to make some changes on his staff.

If we would not have beaten USC we would not even be talking about bowls. That win and that win alone has kept us with in sight of a bowl.

The point is, you can use all the excuses you want but the fact is we are sitting with the exact same record we had last year and having to beat both Vandy and UK again to salvage the season.

I personally am tired of all the excuses I have been hearing since 2005 and simply don't care to hear them any longer . Most excuses are for losers imo

They were on their way to rock bottom before Malzahn left. Last year's Auburn squad was still likely to miss a bowl game even if Malzahn was there as OC.

Cam Newton won them that national championship. Malzahn is a great offensive mind, but Jones' four conference titles in six years is more impressive than what an offensive coordinator did one year with the Heisman trophy winner.

I understand the frustration but outside of Vol fans and in the eyes of everyone else in College football we are right where we should be record wise given the roster.

With the team we had coming back and maybe the hardest schedule in the history of college football the goal before the year started was to get to a bowl. We still have the chance to do so. To me the best case this year would have been 7 and 5 but 6 and 6 gets us to a bown which allows this coaching staff more practice to build for the future

For the most part I stay off of vol nation after games until about the next day. I get on periodically but I don't get on and read a lot again until Tuesday. Usually people are mellowed out by then.

Could not agree more. What we are failing to realize is that in SEC media days more than one opposing coach said UT was the best offensive team they played last yr. The 3 playmakers are now in the NFL. Going to a bowl would be great, but regardless if we like it or not we as a fanbase are going to have to give it 2 more years. Sure, next yr we have a great recruiting class coming in, but pretty tough to win in the SEC every saturday with 18-19 yr old young men. Next year will be better but we have to be realistic as well.

Usually when people say they're "done with" or "over" such n such, it actually means the exact opposite. If he was really "done", his post would've ended there.

That being said, he made some good/valid points. Just leave out the melodramatic "I'm done!" next time.

Couldn't agree More. So Tired of these Rookie predictable Play calling on both sides of the ball. This Isn't Cincy. Here you must match Minds with the Best Coaches in the Country. Right Now we are years away from being competitive

The vast majority of the fan base is rational and know that we have to allow the coaching staff to get their own personal in place. However there are always going to be some people that just want to come on here and blow off some steam. EVERY FAN BASE IN AMERICA IS GOING TO HAVE THAT CONTINGENT.

I'm guessing the poster you are referring to is not a scholarship athlete at one of the top 10 programs in the country. If he was, I would say he should certainly do better.

Go back and watch that film of the Auburn game, you can see guys stumblin, bumblin' and falling over their own feet. Futile dives to the turf as the runner sprinted past them with ease was the norm.

Almost every Auburn play looked like a highlight reel.
