First of all, I hope Cuonzo Martin turns out to great coach who can get some solid recruits and put more in the W column than the L column. He is now our coach and he has my support.

I hope he can retain most of our better commitments and especially, keep Scotty and Tobias. Neither of these guys is ready for the pros yet. Driving to the basket against Miss St. is one thing, driving against Lebron James is totally different.

I hope the puppet masters who hold Hamiltons strings DID NOT say, get the safest guy you can, as fast as you can, for no more than x$ even if it means men’s basketball has to become irrelevant again.

I hope CM’s contract has a clause that if he is fired, he gets nothing, since TN now has the highest EX-Coach payroll in the NCAA!

I hope that the TN games do not go back to the pre-Pearl days, with all the excitement of a funeral procession.

I really hope that CM can get his players to play hard for 2 halves and have pride in the program and themselves, on and off the court. Watching one of the Tourny games my 12 year old son said “How come all those guys hustle and our guys just stand around?” From the mouths of babes…..

Lastly, I hope that in a couple of years, all the people who are complaining or scratching their heads about this hire (including me), get to eat a giant crow sandwich.

I know all this remains to be seen, but hey, I can hope can’t I???

seems like hamilton went to the opposite end of the spectrum, pearl (who had had violations before) to a straight laced, kinda dull type guy. don't get me wrong i think he will do a hella of a job, but he's not a rah-rah guy.

I think Martin will let play on the court speak for him and his players mostly--performance. It also seems like he is genuinely interested in helping players mature personally as well as in basketball terms. He knows that basketball is only a part of life. I like this guy.:good!:

Tobias will get drafted...just because you don't want him to go doesn't mean he isn't ready. His offensive game is good, and has plenty of room to grow.

And let's be honest, no one plays defense in the NBA...and not everyone playing defense is LeBron James.

1. Harris is not physically ready to play in the NBA. Needs to add some muscle IMO.

2. You obviously haven't watched the NBA in 20 years. This was true when Dr. J and the Showtime Lakers were around, but not anymore.

I believe UT basketball will be bad for the next 5 years. Still going to watch it, but it will be bad. Pearl will be missed, and Hamilton should be fired.
