After all the strong candidates turn us down because they're askeered of going up against the likes of Saban, Spurrier, Miles, Muschamp, Richt, et. al.

I'm hoping Dave won't take the retread route.

Vomit...while all the sunshine pumpers tell me to blindly get behind the new hire and wait and see for 4 years. Whoever comes will be a "great recruiter" i'm sure. Vol fans have a right to be pissed AND skeptical.

Bring Gary Patterson please and lets get over it. His last regular season game is what tonight? might know sonner rather than later.

And we will HAVE to take it and like it or we aren't real Vol fans. It's the whole damn NegaVols BS all over again....until we reach this point, yet again 3-4yrs from now.

I agree with that 100%. You can't argue with Patterson's credentials. Gruden was 1a. Patterson was/is 1b, in my book.

Why do we have to wait 4 years to be competitive? Hire a BIG name coach like JG and we'll be back next year. At least we can compete next year. Hire a retread and we are back to step one. Lets pay what it takes to get a big name with PROVEN winning experience and win again. :good!:

Our fans will react the same way they did when Dooley was hired. Most of these posters wanted to have Dooley fire before he moved into his office. Many of the same fans will do the same if anyone other than Gruden is hired. With the fan base we have, we don't deserve to hire a decent coach. It is difficult to try to explain to friends who support other teams how stupid our fans really are. I have a father, brother and son who have lettered at Tennessee and I am sure the two who have passed away would be shocked at the behavior of our fans.

Throw enough money JG's way. He may rethink his reported statement. It's money well spent. We all know TN has the money. :good!:
