Seems maybe Nick is showing a little memory lapse. Moore was not ejected, and even with TV showing the replay, clearly targeting, the booth did not even stop play to look at it. The sideline official actually turned his head back up the field right before the targeting, so he didn't see it. Replay should have caught it. In my opinion, if there is a play where the ball carrier is about to run out of bounds, and a defensive player is closing fast, that official should never divert his attention anywhere else.

I know affecting the quarterback is a thing, hitting them as hard and often as possible to hopefully rattle them or even take them out of play, but once the QB is down there is no good reason to put hits on them just because you can. If it’s an accident, a guy in motion who can’t stop himself that’s one thing but otherwise it shouldn’t be acceptable.

I thought it was a personal foul in real-time. But after watching the replay, I think there's at least a chance that Henry was just trying to not trip over the other Bama player who was laying on the field next to Hendon. I do agree that a flag probably would've been thrown if the uniforms had been reversed.

To me, the best retort to Bama's whining about a supposed missed targeting foul goes back to last year's game, when Bama was not called for it after a blatant hit that literally knocked some of Hendon's teeth out. I don't recall any Bama players, coaches or fans (and certainly not the referees) being the least bit concerned about that. If they were okay with that, then they shouldn't have a problem with anything that wasn't called last week.

Look at the hit on Hooker on the 2 point conversion. If they believe the Omari Thomas hit was targeting then so was that one on our 2 point conversion. He was technically a passer, shovel pass to Fant, and the defender took Hooker out.
