Why so many people are saying this looks like the same BBall team from last year. It is five games into the season. I know this loss hurts, but have a little faith. Wait until conference play to say this is the same team.

Probably because this was the first legitimate opponent they've faced so far this year, and they didn't look any different than they did when they last played legitimate opponents.

When a senior-laden team plays like freshmen in clutch moments, that's not a good sign IMO.

Because it is the same team, still no point guard to speak of. They need someone to run the offense through, they seem to do it by committee, that didn't work very well down the stretch tonight.

This team is definitely improved on D. That's not to say we don't have lapses, but we are improved there. Our lack of bball intelligence is killing us though.

But it's the beginning of the season, there is still plenty of room to improve. This loss shows we have things to work on, but it would be unfair to come to a conclusion this quickly.

I agree we need a point guard, although Maze shows some streaks of decency. But if Hopson, Smith, Chism, Tatum, etc step up I think we would be a pretty darn good team.

We abandoned the post game with Chism too soon I thought. Wayne couldn't be stopped on the block and it seemed like they totally forgot he was on the floor.

Especially considering Purdue's best post player had fouled out.

when your center takes a helter-skelter type 3 pointer when you had 13 seconds to set up a good shot.... AND when you only needed 2 points to win the game..... and you have 3 or 4 seniors on the floor.... and you run the worthless FLEX offense.... aka center and PG play catch 35 feet from the basket while the shot clock runs down.... AND your coach doesn't call a freekin TO to set up something decent.... well.... yeah there's room for improvement. just one question.... what have they been doing since last year?

Same team plus a years experience.. Hopson's still learning how to be a leader and maze looks at least a little better than last year.. But I will admit that as Wayne and Tyler go, so does the team.. If they both play well we'll be dang hard to beat

Amen brother. Chism taking that 3 was predictable (as was the decision not to take a TO, hated when Dean Smith did that $*&%)

Still lost to a good basketball team.

Because VolNation is the most negative place in the Volunteer universe after a loss.

Sad but true!

Go VOlS

We will still win plenty of games. These tournaments in far-off places mean next to nothing. It would have been nice to win, but the season is a long, long way from over.
