Those idiots along with the other "protesters" should be beaten... do they think that sort of thing is "christianlike" ?!!?!?! Gives us all a bad name...

The whole reason they can even protest is because of the sacrifice of soldiers. :realmad:

What stinks is that we have soldiers dying so they can abuse the right of free speech. Now if the families wanted to plead temporary insanity while they kicked their butt what jury would convict them?

I'd be willing to bet that they don't protest very much in small town America.

while they are well within their right to free speech, the decided lack of tact shown by these so-called "christians" is astounding. if any of you live in middle tennessee you probably remember this happening in rutherford county about a year ago, a group from "godhatesfags.com" showed up for a protest outside a soldier's funeral. it's sickening, but as much as i hate to say it, they can and will continue. may they burn in a special hell

Often bringing some of her 11 children with her to protests, Phelps-Roper said people get especially angry seeing children passing along the churches message

how do you guys feel about reproductive laws?

Hopefully all states will enact legislation making it criminal to protest at a funeral. Several states have started due to the protests outside of Military funerals.

This whole issue is sickening. I can't even begin to fathom how these people feel they should do this. What message does it send?

Sickening, I can't believe people would do such a thing.

That is a legislative topic in several states this year. Look for the ACLU to represent Phelps & Co. when they challenge the laws on 2nd Amendment grounds.

like i've always said, there's no lifegaurd at the gene pool.

these people are supposedly sane adults. how in the world do you come to the conclusion that it's a good idea to protest at funeral, and moreover, say it's a good thing the guy died?

was anyone at the roundtable discussion with a brain saying, "uh, you want to do what?"

Phelps has been doing this for years. Right after 9/11, he put up a website godhatesamerica.com, saying that the attacks were God's judgement for America being a gay nation or something like that. This guy is NOT a christian minister. His church is nobody but his own family members. He is a hatemonger who uses the title of reverend.

One of the problems with the Baptist Church not having a governing athority is that any group can call itself Baptist, and there is nobody to challenge them. There is nothing even remotely baptist about this hate group.
