First of all. As much as I hate to say it. Let me just say congrats to the gators. Great game overall. But for the first time in awhile, I am truly worried about where our season is goin. If we arent careful, this could be a repeat of 2002 or worse. A few things need to be straightened out. These include......

1. Finding a quarterback. Playing 2 guys takes away from the momentum and flow of the game. If we dont find a qb and stick with him soon, we've got a long road ahead.
2. Get a better kicking game. Sure Wilhoit kicked the game winner last year to win it but he has never really impressed me since he got to knoxville. Colquit needs a little improvement as well. Had some good punts tonight. But he also kicked an 8 yard punt as well as making the decision to pass the ball on his on 35?!?!?!
3. Offense.....where do i start. Guys....our offense just plain sucks right about now. We have potential dont get me wrong, but something is amiss. It seems like we have no rythym whatsoever. Our blocking needs work.

...our special teams were terrible.

I usually don't like to blame it on one thing...especially since football is all about a team effort...but our big mistakes were made by the special teams.

I just...I'm at a loss for words.

My dad sure isn't.

....there is no excuse for a team as talented as ours to have these dumb problems.

Your right.

Are offense sucks.
Kicking game is not helping us, its huring us.
Playing 2 qbs with the same style doesnt really help like it did last year

How do we KNOW they're reallly THAT talented?? Did the UAB game reveal it? Or tonight's game? I am a Vol fan till I die, win or lose, but methinks somebody was a teeny bit overrated coming into the season just because we beat A&M so resoundingly.

Yes, we are that talented. I believe firmly if we played up to our talent level every game we should be the favorite to play USC in the Rose Bowl. But at this point I'm more inclined to say Capital One Bowl.

Milo, you hit the nail on the head. That is what frustrates the Volnation. All we have heard this preseason is how talented our offense is. We have all the tools. Worst of all, we have a NC defense. They just can't stay on the field all night long.

Duckman is right, except that I think Ainge is too wiggy right now to be the sole QB. They'd have been better off to have put Clausen back in during the 3rd quarter. He's steadier, and if Ainge wasn't going to be throwing those huge passes, why NOT have Clausen?

My god, do we need a kicking game. Wilhoit can't put the ball in the endzone on kickoffs (don't get me started on keeping it in bounds), and Colquitt is a total head case.

I don't think the offense sucks all that desperately. We're doing some good things, but Randy needs to go. He's too predictable. Why in the world were we running to the weak side on that 4th and 4??

I hate to suggest that Phil needs to go, but if he won't get rid of Sanders, then that's what needs to happen.

It goes back to last year, Clausen is effective against the slower defense, Ainge is better against the quick ones.

We need to name a starting QB and back him. This switching stuff is not doing us any good.

One game and you guys are talking Capital One Bowl??

Yesterday you were smelling roses. Though you took a HUGE blow tonight (as I said over and over again, while you laughed and mocked me) its not over yet. They're correctable. Just focus on LSU. If you lose that, it might be time to mail in hopes of an SEC Title. But not quite yet.

Gatorville:

Can't really argue with you much tonight but I would not get too over confident if I were you. Florida did not look that great. Just better than us.

Which really is not saying much unfortunately.

Can't win with a crappy coaching staff huh?

Beats the heck out of the colossal blowout y'all were SUPPOSED to bring us.

Granted, our Special Teams were horrible last night.

We DO need to figure out the quaterback situation.

But my biggest gripe with UT's performance, and always has been, is our defensive backfield. I f you want to beat UT, pass on them. Last night Leak was 19/26 for 179 yards. Granted, that's not a lot of yardage, but his passing game was so effective at crucial times in the game. Florida had guys WIDE OPEN all night long when they really needed it.

Also, come on defense. At one point late in the second half I heard the announcers say that Florida had converted 9 of 10 3rd down conversions. That's a problem.

I still have high hopes for the rest of the season and believe we can still turn out alright. But losing a game, especially to Florida, because of stupid mistakes and lack of focus just pisses me off.
