When X first came to TN and started recruiting, TN had a QB as a commitment named Jesse Scroggins. If I remember correctly X told him he wouldn't fit into the system they were going to run here at TN. Now X is at USC and I know Jesse has been commited to them for a while. Where I am confused is why didn't X tell him the same thing when he became the USC coach.

Scroggins was never committed here, x recruited him hard. Your thinking of the kid who signed with Clemson and was a freshman this year.

You are confused with Taj Boyd who ended up at Clemson. There was another QB, Bryce Petty, was also told he wouldn't fit.

No, Scroggins was going to be X's prize QB after Heaps went to BYU.

If Taj Boyd doesn't beat out Clemson's version of Todd Helton (Kyle Parker) this year, you can probably consider him a bust.

I didn't really pay any attention to Clemson last year. Did Boyd play at all?

No. Boyd couldn't play anywhere he went because he had major knee surgery in the Spring. This is something many here who said we could have used Boyd last year just can't seem to understand (not speaking of you, others that always would bring Boyd up in the early part of the year).

So what you're saying is, and correect me if I am wrong......it was TAJ BOYD!!!!!!!!

There also was another kid out of TX that committed as QB that was told by Dbag to take off too. He was more of a pocket passer. Name slips me. Anyway what ever happened to him??

Tajh Boyd was the guy you're referring to.

Scroggins never was a Tennessee commit, although he had shown strong interest in Tennessee before deciding on USC.

He also told Brunetti no when Brunetti expressed hope to go to UT instead of WVU.

If he had kept Boyd we wouldnt have picked up Sims or the juco kid Lamiason or however you pronounce his name. I'm saying it was a bad move to not pick him up, only time will tell, but I think it was a bad move. he didnt play because he hurt his leg.

I always hated that Kiffin let Boyd go. Really, the only thing I ever had a problem with.

You're right, there was another kid from Tx - not Taj Boyd, not Scroggins - I can't remember his name, but he was not highly recruited, maybe a 3 star, and Kiffin told him pretty quickly he wasn't what he was looking for.

Dang, it's going to bug me I can't think of his name...
