i think im looking forward to the georgia- boise state game more than the ut-uab game... nebody else feel that way cuz id love to see the dawgs get beat.

Hun, Georgia is NOT going to lose to Boise State. Save your energy for the game that REALLY matters....UT vs Bama Jr.

UAB presents a challenge...especially for our secondary.....and ur more worried about a game that is goin to effect the SEC race how??....lets worry about and enjoy our boys play 1st....

Why would you want UGA to lose that game?

UGA loses that game, the SEC loses even that much more respect nationally. UGA loses that game, UTs win over them doesn't look as strong or (heaven forbid), a loss looks brutal.

SEC OOC wins always help TN. I can't understand anyone who would root for an SEC OOC loss.

I completely agree. And, to be honest, I don't have that much disdain toward UGA. Now Bama on the other hand. . . . .

No, in realiity, I always root for SEC teams in OOC matchups. Doing otherwise is nothing short of self-destructive.

Except for Florida. I like to see THEM get beat by ANYBODY.

I want all SEC teams to do well outside conference, well except maybe for Bama, no I take it back, but seing them get beat by anybody feels good, no I take it back more out of con. wins make us look better when we beat them.....I'm torn! :crazy:

As fans we are all irrational to some degree. :crazy:

Some focus on conference pride, others focus on rival hate while still others (like me) typically pull for the underdog (unless the dog is playing my team!).

Why judge someone when their irrationality doesn't match your irrationality :p

I'm a UK grad and fan but I ended up pulling for UAB (basketball) to beat them (talk about irrational) because it was a great moment in sports. (Before you flame me -- I'll be pulling for the large Orange this weekend)

A loss by UGA to BSU undermines any win UT may get and absolutely humilliate UT in the even of a loss to UGA.

We want UT to get all the strength of schedule stars it can, ya'll.

Well I have conference pride. I want the SEC to be the best. I try to pull for all conference teams when they play outside the conference. However, having followed the Vols closely for 55 years, I remember the Alabama games in the Johnny Majors era all too well. I hate Alabama and hope they lose every game ... I didn't develop this disdain for bama because of the Fulmer/Gallion thing.... It has been with me since the 1950's.

To me, sports are entertainment. I want UT to win every game and win the NC. If we win every game and UGA loses to BSU, I doubt it will have much impact.

If BSU beats UGA and we lose to UGA, I won't consider that "Humiliation". I just don't take it that personally. I'll be disappointed but I don't see how losing to a team like UGA could be considered a humiliation (even if BSU beats UGA).

My original point was that all of us have different reasons for being fans. I personally think it would be good for college football to have more mid-majors upset the big boys. Winning an NC in an era when there are strong teams in many conferences is more impressive than winning one when the strong teams are more limited.

Go Boise State.....and I'm definitely looking forward to that game more than ours. In fact, I'm planning on leaving our game early to make sure and see the kick off of that game.

For me...it's all about being entertained, and I want to see Georgia lose because it's entertaining. I don't care what you SEC sheep say.

It's not being an SEC "sheep" but looking out for the best interest of UT. UGA losing does nothing but hurt UT's SOS and drives down the conf. ratings. To me, the ultimate entertainment would be going to the Rose Bowl to watch UT/USC, not watching UGA lose. This could create another edition of last year's Auburn mess. Personally, I hope all SEC teams win all their OOC games. I will not cheer for them all but I will look for the scores. I just hope it never comes to having to pull for bammer to win and help UT. Don't think I could do it.

In Jacksonville FL you won't get the UT game? According to Jefferson Pilot website, the affiliated station in JAX is WJXT-TV. All JP stations are supposedly carrying the same game.What gives?

you can definetly watch the game in jacksonville fl, as a matter of fact, i'm leaving georgia to go see my buddy in jax just to watch the game, it will be on there so no worries, you just gotta look for it. and i would say restaurant/sports bar type places would carry if you cant find it on your tv. :eek:k:

I'm fairly certain nobody within 500 miles of me has even heard of Jefferson Pilot, so my time will unforunately be spent elsewhere.

The Ohio State/Texas game won't be shown in Jacksonville this weekend either. The game is Sept. 10th. :nener:

gosh u ppl are crazy.. lol. UT is still by far my favorite team, but i think the georgia-boise state game would be more fun to watch. yall definately need some chill pills...

UGA V. Boise St. is the best game of the day and it could go either way. I can't wait to watch it.
I'm not routing for UGA, so route for your BCS crap and leave me out of it. I'm gonna enjoy the season and cheer heavy against the teams I hate and follow the Vols.
I think we are well capable of taking care of our business and making a nat'l ship run without Georgia's help.
