I don't believe in moral victories but after yesterday's game I have to say there's no doubts in my mind Butch is the guy. I saw IMPROVEMENT. A team that has played 8 Walk ons and several true freshmen, stayed toe to toe with the number 6 team in the country. We're actually getting better as the year goes on unlike the last few seasons. Once our talent level goes up, watch out. The future is bright!!!

Agreed. Early in the 3rd quarter I started getting the LSU2010 feel. It was a feeling that we were going to give a more talented team everything they wanted and have a shot to actually win.

The ONLY difference between the two is that coaching lost us the LSU game and we cant say that about UGA....although i know some people will still try. I am very encouraged by CBJ and this team. Good times are ahead.

I've never doubted Butch is the man to get it done. He is working with a lot of young players and a QB with experience almost totally from this seasons play. We need some players which Butch is getting were gonna be proud when we win the SEC title which I feel is coming in the next three years.

I am with you..........I have been skeptical and stuck in a negative rutt over the losses this season.......This is a signature game for Butch Jones.......even though we did not get the win I feel like we are making strides in the right direction. Worley simply amazed me today with his play......Neal played lights out........receivers stepped up and made plays........Pig Howard showed us what the slot position in Butch's offense is going to be! Defense continued to show improvement and play hard! Crowd really showed up today and supported the team! GO VOLS!

I am hopeful that with vastly improved player quality and a couple of years for Butch to install his system, we'll be relevant again.

We'll know in a year or 2 if sustainable progress has been realized.

I feel great about bUTch! It is much easier to be a fan when the team plays hard and has a good game plan. That game was a blast to watch and I'm pumped about seeing our Vols play the rest of the season. We are on the right track and it looks like the recruits had a great visit. Give us 2 years and we will be on top of the east.

agreed. we are definately showing signs of improvement. but i wish everybody would quit saying we played toe to toe with the no.6 team in the country. the big bad amazing uga. they are renked no.6 because they have a little more depth, a sr. qb, and they didnt have to travel out to oregon. they aren't out of our league. we should play them to the wire, especially when we get them at home. they were also down theyre best 2 rb's and 2 wr's. hopefully the team now realizes that we have a bunch of 3 and 4 star players on our team as well and a coaching staff that can call a good game and make adjustments. now...let go lay into sc. that was the last win we had over a top 25 team. history repeats itself

I'm willing to eat crow. I was starting to have doubts and I needed to see something to be reassured. Yesterday was it. I love how hard our defense is hitting. We may not have the players across the board yet, but the attitude and effort is there.

I love what Butch is doing and he eventually will get us back in contention in the SEC. BUT right now, I think he get's a little to caught up in the game when he needs to be a step ahead. If he would have had is head on straight when it was tied up near the end of the 4thQ. He should have more to milk and milk that clock. Richt talked about this very thing on our own radio station all week saying sometimes it's better to just go ahead and let the other team score in those situations so you can get the ball back with time to score. I would have loved to seen Neal drop to his knee right before the end zone. IMO, a couple of wasted plays would have went along way. I'm still in shock that the game slipped between our fingers. Go Vols!

Halt time adjustments and player progression is something that I never saw with Dooley. I see it with Butch. We made plays that we had too yesterday. We caught a bad break and lost, but we made some HUGE plays to be in that situation

Butch Jones is a football coach, plain and simple. From the looks of the recruiting offers to date, he is an excellent recruiter. What Jones does better than most is he is one of the best motivators I have seen in a long time. You only have to look as far as Palardy to understand what motivation can do for a player. Look what Jones has done to the fan base. Yesterday, at Neyland, was a page out of the past. I have not seen that in years. I am extremely hopeful for the future of TN football. There will be bumps in the road but we will make it to the top of the hill.

Maybe USCeast can be our win we are looking for. The team shown they can play at that level. Plus USCeast is experiencing some internall attitude issues. We get a week of prep. I am pumped for this game. On anoher note. I want the smokey grey uniforms more often. The boys looked sharp while still maintaining the tradition

I was so happy to see the stadium full of supportive fans
for this game. It was a great game for the team, Butch and the fans. I read on this forum that this was a big recruiting weekend. I do not think we could have provided the fans, national television and future Vol's a better showing of what this program is and can be. Obviously I would have liked to win, but we were playing a good Georgia team. The UG has had a higher ranked recruiting class each of the last four years. Even thought we didn't`t get the "W", this close game should give the team something to build confidence on. This was the first game I have truly enjoyed in several years. Butch seems to have the program going in the right direction. My wife and I thought the Smokey Gray uniforms looked great. I wish we could incorporate some of the patterning in the Orange and White Jersey's. Great effort on Saturday. Go Vol's !!!!!!!!!!:good!::good!:

Overheard some Georgia fans after the game saying "We were outplayed and outcoached by Tennessee today. I'm not looking forward to seeing what Butch Jones will do for them when he gets the players he wants in there."

That says it all for me. I was mad as hell, even with the effort that we lost that game. When I heard them talking about that, I started looking towards the positives. We have the football coach that we want and he wants to be here. His players leave it on the field for him and are drastically improving over the course of the year.

PLEASE, PLEASE MAKE THE ATMOSPHERE FOR SOUTH CAROLINA AS GOOD AS IT WAS TONIGHT.. And we will beat the living brakes off that team. GO BIG ORANGE.
