...INTERESTING.

He just said Dobbs is starting because he has more experience.

What he meant was "snaps" from the last game.

So to me, he's not really putting the "best" QB to win the game. I think he actually doesn't know..and that kind of scares me.

I would think by this time of the year, you know what all your QBs are capable of doing, right?

Last saturday, it was because Riley was injured.

This saturday, it is because Dobbs has more snaps.

Haters!!!! Trust in Butch and Dobb.

To some here, it seems the best QB will always be the one we haven't seen play. It was Peterman, until he played. Now, it's Riley. Why, oh why, would BJ not play the QB he thinks is best?

Really? Really with this crap? He beats Clowney University and you still doubt. We might as well hire Dookey back so that you remember, again, what it's like to have captain insane as your coach.

it looks like dobbs has the better handle of the playbook. riley might be more talented but doesn't know the offense as good. i hope all debate over the qbs is done after this weekend. dobbs can run, our offense has been handicaped due to no running qb. its really exciting, and i can't wait to see the offense with dobbs in. he's gonna tear it up!

Ferguson is reportedly still hurt btw. If Dobbs goes down (pray he doesn't) Ferguson or Pig Howard would probably come in and hand the ball off.

This is absolutely getting ridiculous.

The entire situation has been about saving redshirts. If Dobbs plays well enough to win, why in the hell does it matter? Everybody is going to get a turn in the spring. We should simply be happy that the Vols seem to have two viable options at QB. Perhaps the problem is that it has been way too long since that has been the case. We don't know how to act anymore.

Anymore? Wait, there was a time when posters on Volnation knew how to act? You don't say....

I don't get why this is so hard for some to understand. Ferguson will stand on the beach ready, but hopefully ever take a snap.

Having to burn both RS could end up being a "political" nightmare for Butch and company...especially if both of the QBs show out.

OK, VN...

No person here should be overly emotionally invested in any one QB-- especially since none of us have seen them perform in practice, and additionally because very little has been said from the staff per practice performance on an individual level. They are all a UT QB, and we (should) want all of them to succeed.

Personally, I am extremely excited and thankful that we have both Dobbs and Ferguson. HS highlights, HS stats, recruiting services and the Elite-11 all indicate that they are both very talented and projected to be successful in college. I personally believe that UT is very fortunate to have gotten both of them in the same class.

With all of that said, for whatever reason, Dobbs got the start. He looked really good for a true freshman taking first snaps against an Alabama defense-- better than I would have predicted, and I had quite a bit of faith in his talent as a true freshman.

Having gotten the start, thus burning his redshirt, and having not messed himself, CBJ would not burn a second redshirt on our second true freshman QB. Period.

Everyone should support Dobbs, hope that UT's starting QB goes lights out and leads us to an undefeated remainder of the season, and look forward to a very competitive QB competition in the spring, where they all push one another to higher levels of success.

[/soapbox]

And did you not here CBJ say that he very comfortable with Dobbs starting? Evidently not! Now how many more Dobbs threads are we gonna see! SMH

It was never peterman for anyone who had a clue
