Do you think Coach Kiffin is going to look westward a bit more in finding recruits for the Vols?

From a guy who's been out west and surely has seen the talent that comes out of the JUCO in So Cali ...

I'm sure he can find a good amount of lineman (Pac 10 teams are trying to rack them up) as well as some quality receivers and backs to join Tenn.

Or do you guys feel there's a gold pot of talent in the area of Bama, Tenn., Georgia that we don't know about out here in the west?

I believe we will continue to dot the map for talent, wherever we can find it, but juco offensive lineman are probably going to be a big priority.

I think The Vols will become even more entrenched out on the west coast. With the coaches' connections out there and Kiffin wanting to prove he can pull top talent away from USC.

Tennesseee should step in and try to grab some westcoast lineman... we honestly do have some monsters ...

So Cali JUCO is big traditionally but you have to weed them out of the others this year....

some teams you'd expect to be noisemakers this year aren't performing in the level that I thought ....

I mean Mt. SAC didn't do well this past week in offense... but defensively ... wow... they were flawless...

He will recruit the Southeast effectively and pull in some surprises from the West Coast, but he won't be trying to pull everyone or more from the West Coast because that will cause issues here since we are an East Coast team.

I'm awaiting to hear word of Tennessee's interests in Paul Dancy ... Mt. SAC's other outside defensive attacker ... he's equally sharing the punishment on the D with Irvin and is already been contacted by USC right now.

I think you will see him taking the best talent he can get his hands on anywhere. South, North, East, or West. I would love to see us start plucking top recruits in the south again though. However, if the best talent is out West then why not build your pipelines theres. I would also love for to start hitting Texas up more.

We will be all over the map. With his recruiting budget, there will be no stone left unturned.

Coach O, the recruiting coordinator is on record as saying he hopes to pull 4 to 5 players a year from Cali ...

I think I saw in another thread a quoted article had 8% of his current recruits coming from California. I am not sure whether this included verbals.

I think they'll try and maintain a pretty strong hold in the SE since nine time out of ten, when we bring in a top recruit from FL, GA, AL, LA, etc...we are stealing them from one of our rivals. It's win win.

Kiffin will continue to plunge the West and stated as much when referring to this weekend's matchup against UCLA. This is something the other head coach used to do also, to his credit.

Look James aside from the JC the guys still on the board from Cali are the QB for the future in Bray,
Ronald Powell (although everyone keeps yelling at me that we have no chance because he is USC or UF)
Dietrich Riley,
Josh Shirley
Demetrius Wright
John Cullen
Joshua Shaw
and we wanted George Uko badly but despite being in his top 3-4 we look cut at this point in favor of CA schools.

I have been fired up about Cali since I joined the board:

Southern California is definitely an area I expect to build a pipeline to. We have certainly gotten some prospects out of there historically, but you will see it more and more. With the coaches' connections to the area and simply too much talent for all the SoCal schools to take, we will definitely be a force in the area.
