I guess it's time to pack it in. Will Vol fans ever be happy?

Well folks we are 2-0 this season. We have beaten 2 good teams fairly handily. The defense has looked good. Worley has looked excellent. Yes the OL has struggled but they will improve. We are the second youngest team in the country yet we are still 2-0.

So I guess it's time to give up. Reading the posts after this game have really been beyond pathetic. Negative, negative, negative. Apparently some of you will never be happy. After the second game some of you are basically writing us off. Why? Do you honestly think we will not improve? All the games have not been played yet and regardless of what has happened in the first 2 weeks, anything can happen. I get frustrated when we play. However I am not about to write us off against any team on our schedule.

What you negavols need to do is drop your purses and start getting excited and have some faith in CBJ and our Vols.

UTC, UK, Vandy plus one equals a bowl. Improvement will make me happy.

Good post. Most of the ones complaining are the same ones who "understood" that we are still in a rebuilding process. Apparently they forgot. The pieces are beginning to fall into place. Recruiting, recruiting, recruiting.

No joke man. I'm pretty dang happy. Plus watching Vandy and usc SUCK it up makes us look even better. I believe this will be the best team we've had in several years. We might not be ready to compete for the sece this year but who knows. Look at auburn last year... Anything can happen

How can you idiots just sit around? Rome is burning! We 're undefeated? Yeah...technically...ok realistically...shouldn't we do something? :unsure: Somebody? Anybody?

let them wallow in the mire and just ignore their ignorant negativity.

I think we grow all season long, pull a couple of upsets and get 7-8 wins. We'll enjoy it and then they'll act like they knew it all along.

I have faith in CBJ, the young men on our roster and positive direction in which the program is headed. Doesn't mean I'm unable to assess what I see and call it like I see it.

We're still a couple years and a couple of very strong recruiting classes, at minimum, away from being a team that's gonna challenge for an SEC title and truly threaten a team like Oklahoma on the road IMHO.

I'm very pleased that we're 2-0 and 1/3 of the way to a bowl game. At the same time, I can also see that our OL and Special teams are playing subpar football right now and will likely be the reason for not really exceeding expectations this year if they don't improve do so very quickly. If this makes me a NegaVol then so be it.

We are pretty close to expectations. Inexperienced Oline with a bunch of under weight freshmen running around with the football. The only thing I might change after 2 weeks, Vandy is weaker and UK is stronger than expected.

We didn't open up our play book in the second half....no screen game today and that is a HUGE portion of this offense...staff used the 2nd half of this game to work on the actual run game. That is what I saw. If the screen game had been used we beat them by 3 more TDs and the haters would be quiet right now.

Got the 2 X-factor games the so called experts said we were going to struggle with and possibly be upset by. As long as Worley stays healthy....UTC, UK, Vandy are done deals...with an effort like the Utah State game....we can get at least 2 more wins out of Ole Miss, Florida, Mizzu, and South Carolina.

So everyone just needs to listen to super hot Mila Kunis....

Those fans that have written off for the season just get the hell off of VN! COME BACK IN A YEAR OR TWO LIKE GOOD BANDWAGON FANS. Let the rest of us who are true fans enjoy 2-0 and the fact that.we know we are a better team today than we were a year ago today. By the end of the season we will be a much better team than we are today. We go out and compete and yes we will lose some more games this year, but we will go bowling this year. BUTCH GET'S IT: EVEN THOUGH MANY OF OUR ARM CHAIR VOLNATION COACHING STAFF DOES NOT.

I FOR ONE AM PROUD AS HELL OF THIS TEAM AND THE I FIGHT AND EFFORT. THEY ARE GIVING THEIR ALL FOR TENNESSEE EVERY DAY.

I fully get what you're saying. Healthy criticism is perfectly fine. I am critical of the team. I just think some act way to negative. Not meaning you BTW. It just seems that even after a win, some cannot be happy. Also it's the second game of the season and some are already penciling in future games as losses based on one or two performances.

From what I've observed these 2 games, while following along in the game day threads:
1. RBs need to wait for the play to develop. 1a. Why are the RBs so slow getting to the line?
2. Worley Sucks 2a. Worley for Heisman
3. Defense is so much better this year. 3a. Defense sucks like last year.
4. Worley needs to run more. 4a. Why run Worley?
5. We gone whip dey azz, SECE champs. 5a. We go 4-8.
We're where we should be right now. Both these games were considered possible upsets or traps by some, or close at best. IMO, considering the youth, inexperience, and lack of depth we did OKAY! We have some tough ones ahead, but; I won't throw in the towel. I think we get better if we stay healthy and my gut says we make a bowl. All that said, I love this site, the threads, enjoy the posts, and GBO! :rock:

I have been coming to this website for 2 seasons. I have never posted or commented but I feel the need to agree with you 100 percent. This seasons goal needs to be a bowl game. People need to stop freaking out over every little thing and just support the team during the good times and the bad. Lets be happy about any wins we get. No matter how sloppy the win is. Let the coaches worry about the teams improvement.

I agree we need to remain positive and good years are ahead, but is it not fair to say this o- line is a bit scary considering the gauntlet we are about to face?

We are close to expectations. Right where thought we would be except oline. They are not all true freshmen. And whst gets me the most u listen all u heard at end of last season was this line has a nastiness. Very physical. So where is it or are we running vanilla run plays cause I have not seen one oline in second level or really jist get great push and handle lesser dlines
