I have come here to take my beating.

To be fair, Robert Morris is a beast of a player. He averages like 60/70 points a game!

Who cares? It's not like ky would hang a banner in Rupp if they won the thing.

It's the NIT, ky doesn't care.

Kentucky dosen't care about getting beat by Robert Morris? Alrighty then...

edit: Just to add to your logic.

Who cares what kentucky would have done with the banner? I just want to watch Tennessee win. I don't wouldn't care what Tennessee would do with the banner. Just don't lose to Robert Freaking Morris.

Pretty sure their NIT trips have a banner with the years. If they won the NIT, they probably wouldn't give it the same fanfare as an NC, but they'd recognize it in the rafters.

Pretty sure that's not the case. Only final four and above are hung in Rupp Arena. UK currently has 15 final fours (including the 8 titles). There are fifteen banners in Rupp (not including player jerseys, coaches, etc.)

I really don't give a damn about the NIT, but under no circumstances do I condone a team quitting like that also.

An interesting comment from post game Calipari:

In the wake of the most embarrassing loss of his time at Kentucky and probably his entire career, John Calipari was done sugar coating things. With the season over, Cal admitted that this team had some major problems: “The stuff I accepted from this team, the program almost got hijacked

Cal said that this season, he’s put up with some things he never would in the past in hopes of “saving some guys.” He said that he wanted to keep coaching in hopes that the light would come on for Alex Poythress, Archie Goodwin, and Kyle Wiltjer.

Are most fans buying what Cal said or are there starting to be some concerns about next season? Y'all should be ok but tonight, wow.

I'd imagine any teams that won the NIT back in the 70's and 80's when it was bigger than the NCAA would keep it hanging. You hang the ones that matter the most in their respect.

I was gonna say what Daloth just said. In UK's past, we've actually declined the NCAA Tourney and went to the NIT. Of course, that was decades and decades ago.

You're okay Kentucky fan. You'd be a loser if you celebrated a victory or felt a sense of pride trashing these teams. You'd also be a loser for actually losing the game so yes....it's a lose / lose situation. The benefits of NIT play....carry on

I don't follow UK. What is Calliperi talking about? Can't understand why he would have to put up with anything - he's won his National Championship, he recruits the best class every year. He has the freedom to say "do it my way or get out."

At one time there was a banner in Rupp for the 1976 NIT. Not sure if it's still there or not. Kind of doubt it.

I don't see why anybody anywhere gives a darn about the NIT. I don't care who is playing in it.

Point I tried to make and got roasted. I equate this to Bama playing in the Poulan Weed-eater Bowl next year.
