I have never been so excited!

Check out "The Color Orange" as well. Pretty sure it is on YouTube. Some good history in that one too

Most definitely, typifies what TN is all about. We need to get him some John Ward stuff for sure!

I think Florida or Bama next year is my target. If not I will think again. It all depends on schedules because it's so expensive just to get to the states that I will only go if I can catch another game of another sport nearby.

Man it would have been great for you to be at the South Carolina game. Biggest win in 4 years.

Do you get to watch highlights? Entire games on TV?

K24, just purely out of interest what made you become a Vol fan? I love having you on our side and i think it's cool that the orange has fans overseas, the reason I ask is that you started following UT in 2011 probably our worst year ever.

I get every game on a subscription service called ESPN Player, it's like MLBTV or NBA League Pass... It gives me every ESPN college game, and all the big non ESPN college games are on TV here anyway, so I can see every Vols game.

Lol, that's 6 times in three days.

I go into football after watching Super Bowl 40. After getting more and more into football I decided I would research the whole "college" thing, as I wanted to know some of the players before they were drafted.

I researched various teams and got my head around the basics of how the conferences worth etc. I narrowed down my options to Texas (one of the few teams I had heard of), Wisconsin (because of the packers) and Southern Miss (because of Brett Favre).

I decided I would most likely go for Wisconsin because of my many friends who support them, so I spent a lot of the summer of 2011 researching them. But it all changed at a family wedding a few weeks before the season started. At the wedding a few Americans who were there got chatting to me for hours and hours about US sport. It just so happens that one of them is a massive Vols fan who graduated from UT - and when he found out I was searching for a team he spent hours telling me about the traditions at UT and inspired me to research them. I had never considered UT, partly because I had never heard of them....

So the next day I went home and watched the 2010 game against Kentucky on the SEC website. It was a pretty good game from what I remember, so I decided to stick with them going into the season. I then found this forum after the first week of the season, read it for the September month to get an idea of what the fan base was like - I joined that October and the rest is history. The Vols are now my favourite team.

First of all, YES , I did actually read the post with a British accent and didn't even realize I had done it until that question was posed. Weird, huh?

Secondly, I had a buddy that I worked with back in the 80s that was British. Another friend of mine and I would always throw parties on gameday and watch the Vols. We were recent transplants to SC at the time. Lots of people would come to eat our ribs off the grill, etc. Anyway, our Brit Buddy learned the game of football over those 5-6 years of hanging with us. One of the most satisfying experiences over the years because he was in the midst of all these Carolina and Clemson fans but became a die-hard Vol.

He loved to yell , "RUN, MY SON!!!" in that great accent whenever our guys would break into the open field! ...and that has become one of my favorite things to say til this day while watching the Big Orange.

Lol. I say "Come on my son!" When a player breaks off a big play and is running down the field... Is that a British thing then?

Dear Volnation,

I have been an avid watcher of US sports since I was 12, about 8 years ago, not once have I been this excited of a game before. I wasn't this excited for Super Bowl XLV, the 06 Stanley Cup finals, my first Dodger playoff game or the last two NBA finals. THIS weekend's game against Bama has me giddy.

I doubt we will win, but I feel for once that we have a legit shot of taking down the best team in the USA. I love the team's spirit, I love Butch's coaching and leadership. I literally feel nervous every time I see the clip of Butch saying "I want the whole city of Knoxville to know that it's football time in Tennessee!"

I cannot stop thinking about this game.

I dreamt last night we beat them, and woke up happier than ever. This is on Butches, thanks to all you who keep posting on here preparing me for this game and teaching me more and more about college football and our history. All of you on this board make me more and more proud to be a Vol fan by the day. :hi:

I have 6 Vols shirts and a jersey, I am wearing one every day until Sunday, reppin' Tennessee at work and Uni.

MAN I HATE BAMA, BRING ON SATURDAY EVENING!

Regards,

Stephen the British Vol :salute:

Welcome my son! The future is bright Orange! All I can do is think about the game this Saturday...can't wait!

If you like to watch Vols basketball, you should pick a week with both the mens team and the Lady Vols playing at home that week and a home game for the football team

<<<<< that is coach Pat Summit with her 8 Championship trophys

you might be able to get a Titans game in too,if you like to watch a NFL game,It isn't to far to drive for other college games from Knoxville either

with some good planning, you could over dose on some sports ,it is great to have you as a fan of the mighty Vols of Tennessee and VolNation.com,welcome aboard

I would love to tie in a Basketball game too, but it depends on schedule. The bottom line is, my Dad has no interest in the Vols, and I will not be making the trip alone, so I need to some how tie in a Packers game. We play the Saints away next year, so my theory is to go to Knoxville, then after the game take an internal to Louisiana.

If only money was infinite! I generally order from football fanatics but paying $30 postage and then $40 import duty isn't fun so I don't do it often....

As you can imagine, I have had to answer this question quite a few times in the last three years on here, but since you ask...

Great story and happy to call you a fellow Vol. Have you been to Neyland yet to watch a game?

*Edit- Sorry about that. After reading through all of the posts I see you haven't. Anyhow, Go Vols and glad you are enjoying it. The best is yet to come.
