That Tennessee has NEVER lost 8 games in a season before. We started playing football in 1891 so that is a long dang time. I doubt there are many teams in the NCAA that can claim this. I would hate to be a member of the first UT team in history to ever do this.. Beat KY!!

only Ohio State is the only other school that can claim it...if I'm not mistaken!

This is second hand knowledge...and I'm too lazy to check.

Well if nothing else, we would keep at least one positive streak alive in a year where we broke just about every negative one.

It would be great if it could be a large crowd for the seniors.

Dooley's gone folks. Let's send them out right and let them know we stand behind them.

this team is historically bad. add another one to the list.

I surely hope this doesn't happen but honestly nothing would surprise me. KY always gets their panties in a wad when they play us. I live in KY and believe me they hate us more then any other school. If they only beat us its like winning the lottery or something for them.

Last year was torture. I don't want a repeat.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised to see them storm the field last year....even though the record was held for so long.


It kind of made me feel sorry for them. Like it would never get any better than THIS for KY.

Here's an article showing how vacating wins work...its from an article from 2009 about what happened to all those wins alabama had to forfeit a few years ago.

very astute...

but so did most programs that started back then...so the fact that we are one of the only programs to achieve this is pretty cool.

...and we started playing 8 games and up every year from 1899 to the present.

there was only one season that we lost every game we played...1891, we were 0-1.

also having 7 losses is actually a historically rare thing for UT.

unfortuantly recent trends are troubling...we have only lost 7 games in a season 6 times. 5 of those 6 seasons have come since 2005. double check me please but if I'm right it just shows the state in which we find ourselves.

That goes for ALL teams. Still an amazing feat since UT and OSU are the only teams to accomplish this feat.

After the Vols get through with the wildcats on Saturday they'll wish they had lost last year. Bray will be surgical and AJ will be the abominal animal.
