I just found this interesting

Crazy that 7 SEC teams were in the top 10 in recruiting in 07...the margin for error is so small.

I miss the days of multiple 5 stars, even though Berry was really the only one that lived up to his stars. So many of those players no longer on the team, many of them would have been very usefull this year especially DT and OL. At least now CDD can rebuild us and get some stability back.

I know eveyone on this board already knows but man that 2008 class really dug UT in such a big hole and now CDD is trying to patch it up. So many players in that class are either gone or have not been quality contributors. I don't even like to look at that class on rivals.

You say that, because the ranking was low, but many of those players are the only ones contributing right now.
The # 3 2007 class was the bust.

Honestly, it makes me sick. That class ended up being a complete disaster...

More contributors from the o8 than 07
08 - hughes, Johnson, Lathers, Poole, G williams, Wagner, Thomas.

The 07 contributors were basically E. Berry 5*, G Jones 4*, Rogan 3*, and D. Moore 3*

there's only about 6-7 that contribute from that class. A low rated class with very few left doesn't help much

07 was higher ranked but could not stay in school.
08 lower rank but many contributors and most will contribute in their senior year in 2011

It helped more than the high rated 07 class with 2 left.

neither really help. Those should be the Jr and Sr leaders of this team yet very few stand out (no 1st rnd picks from that class) It's why we are where we are and arguing which class sucks more is pretty useless actually. None were where they needed to be

I'm counting more like 5 from 07, 2 defensive starters (Evans and Walker), 2 offensive starters (Jones and Moore), and one injured starter in Martin.

I count Evans since zasnow posted that he has been reinstated.

5 isn't great, but it's more than 2. I figure we can count Eric Berry as another, since he left for the NFL (not so much Rogan since he didn't really have a chance).

Conceded.

You are right, both were busts, and there are many players from the 08 class contributing this year and next. For me though, Berry made up for what others did not in the 07 class...JMO

I see your point though
