Amen LIO. When the tsunami hit, all everyone could say was how cheap the US was and they needed to donate more. The US only becomes fashionable when someone needs money. What about all those UN dues we send every year?

Its just hard to watch all these people now homeless, hungry, and dehydrating. The help is there, it just seems not to be quick enough?

I dont know the totals, But some have even been brought to my area for shelter, food/water, and medical. I live almost on the Tn/Va state line.

I honestly think the last thing we need to do is adopt a "what have you done for me lately" attitude, even if the rest of the world are being dicks about disaster aid.

Turnabout is fair play, milo. I'm just saying that the rest of the world could learn a lesson from the good ol" US of A.

And Canada.

The other countries are not going to do anything to help us.....We bend over for everyone, but they don't care as long as they get help when they need it.

They could house a couple of thousand folks in the ETSU Mini Dome. Lord knows, ETSU isnt going to be needing it until Basketball season.

Very good idea! Stones throw away from JCMC as well.

The ones i mentioned had been brought here via? no clue, But some friends of my g/f have taken them in. She also said her Physician was allowing as many, as his family and home could house.

Continuing the 'I Know I shouldn't Be Negative But" theme...

Where are the troops in New Orleans?
Looting
Shootings
thousands with no water, no food, nowhere to go...
SUVs are seen in video driving the streets, but not military vehicles!

It's been over 48 hours! Come on people, get in there!

I'm venting I know, but this is painful to watch!

I just watched the latest White House Briefing (9-1-05).

Scott McClellan said Canada and Saudi Arabia's leaders have spoken today with the President offering aid and help.

He also said many other nations have offered help through their embassy channels.

Scott said we will certainly take them up on their offers.

It did help improve my attitude towards these nations. We as Americans need to educate ourselves on who has offered aid.

We need to remember those who don't.

If Donald Trump, and Bill Gates got together they could pay to rebuild NO. How about some help from these monster mogels , including Wal-Mart and others, any word of help from corporate America?

Wal Mart announced today we've donated 1 million to the red cross, another 1 million to the salvation army, and sent a fleet of refriderated trucks loaded with ice, bottled water, and food. The looting and the crime going on there is what worries me. A breakdown in the infrastructure of social services and imenities turns folks into animals. I also heard 2day the president asked congress for 10 billion in aid funds.

I sent my money to the STEVE MCNAIR FOUNDATION, that is helping in the Mississippi cleanup.

They just said on the Titans telecast that McNair, Peyton Manning and Brett Farve have made PSAs to get people to donate.
