...he`s been burning the candle at both ends and he needs to take a vacation after NSD. Remember this though... For (more than) a year now we have not only been hearing that being in the news is good we have been on that path of experiment. Yes that is a but BUT I`m trying to bring this up for consideration for all those who are touting dooley even though I don`t want to take anything away from the man.

I really like what he has done so far, he has really been fighting an uphill battle with trying to get players to commit and trying to fill out a coaching staff. One thing that we have found out about CDD is that he is a hard worker!!

I like most everything he has done so far, with the exception of his......not talking to the press. WE NEED INFO HERE!!!!!!! Who's coaching what, what D will he run or is leaning, the offense, The players he inherited, just anything he can legally tell us would help the average fan. We are clamoring for some words of encouragement.

I know, I know, let the bashing start!!!!!

Yes it could be framed better. How about like this... We have a sympathy element in this recruiting class staying together and growing as it has.

So the point you were trying to make is that it's really Kiffin's work in keeping UT's name out there the past year and some kind a sympathy for the program that is keeping recruits here? It has nothing to do with Dooley or the impressive staff he's putting together? Sorry but that's a complete load of crap.

I see no reason to bash you for that. I`m wondering if dooley has a point of contact that is informing the team. If we as fans are in a tizzy to find this stuff out imagine what the team is going through. I guess we need to take to heart his position the same as he asked the team to have patience. Patience is a virtue.

If this recruiting class actually signs the LOI the way it is predicted to, I do not see where anyone can find fault with CDD. I just don't . Most of the press wrote this class off for UT, but it is looking more and more like he will end up landing a top 10 class. If that happens I think we score round 1 to the man.

That is why I framed it the way I did the first time so that noone would get the impression that I was saying dooley hasn`t done anything. But you want to get that impression in spite of my effort to prevent it. In other words no you are wrong.

I like the Saban stuff keeping the media out of it.

I also like not feeling jerked around in the DC hiring process like I did in the HC process..

He seems to be a pretty private person. Doesn't bother me as long as it produces results on the field!!!

We now have a football coach with integrity. I am emboldened with his demeanor and his approach to fulfilling his many responsibilities. UT deserves and needs to be respected as a class act. Don't let Coach Dooley's quiet resolve distract UT fans from his dedication or professional abilities. "Walk softly and carry a big stick!"

Coach Dooley will bring pride and a winning tradition back to our wonderful university.

Hello Vol Nation first time poster long time fan. All I can say I think DD has done a great job in just a few weeks without being on ESPN and making a butt of himself. It has been refreshing . I think this class will surprise everyone.

The reason we got jerked around was because MH didn't say anything. The press was left out and they had to guess what was going on. When you don't communicate with people, they're going to assume stuff, and it's usually wrong. to me, it's much better to tell a little of what you know than to let people guess and speculate.

This has got to be the strangest thread I've ever read.
Dooley's doing a great job, his message is hitting home with these recruits and he has a university behind him that can back up everything he's saying.
If there's one other factor that plays into the mind of the recruit, it's early playing time.
Done.

Ok... dooley`s recruiting efforts are being helped by a sympathy vote because kiffin gilted UT (us).

Thank you for clarifying your first statement. I disagree. You are not giving Chaney, Thompson and of course, Dooley enough credit for not only saving the class but addiing to it.

I do not think fans are feeling sympathetic and especially recruits. I do not believe a highly recruited player commits to a school out of sympathy.
