VOLS gonna take care of business tonight!

I remember when ESPN was trying to debate if Josh Heupel or Sam Pittman was the better hire. I’d say that argument has been settled!

Tennessee - 42 / Arkansas - 20

Pittman is a great O-Line coach but mediocre HC.

I don’t see this game being close.

Pittman is not a horrible HC-he's just at Arkansas.

Other than maybe Vandy and Miss St, probably the hardest place in the SEC to win with the way CFB has progressed by the year 2024.

Their fan base is hardcore, but I'm not so sure about their NIL. I know one of the chicken companies has basically showered the BB program with cash, but that doesn't help FB.

An 8:4 type program is probably their ceiling these days honestly. They're just a decent sized fish in a pool of killer whales. Put them in the B12 or ACC and they're probably a playoff team every few years.

Arkansas is 8 spots ahead of Mississippi State in the team talent composite, so somewhere in between them and Ole Miss. If there was a coach who could actually get fans excited and invested in NIL it would help, but Pittman’s in-game decisions don’t lead to much confidence so there’s not much money coming through. Absolutely no reason Missouri should have the infrastructure to win 11 games while Arkansas struggles to make a bowl though, that’s what’s crazy.

Mizzus big jump last year was primarily due to a change in their state laws to allow athletes to begin collecting NIL as soon as they sign with a Missouri college. So basically Burton, etc started getting paid when he was a junior in high school.

They don't have the infrastructure to win 11 games in the SEC-they just did some slight of hand that will give them a few good seasons.

Eventually someone will put some structure around NIL so there are uniform rules instead of of the hodgepodge mess that exists now

Also, 11 win seasons will keep top recruits happy, but what happens when the Tigers fall just a bit? Mass exodus. All things being equal, these guys still want to win man.

When either-or both of those things happen the little run Mizzu has been on ends (if it didn't end today anyway with that blowout loss to a middling A&M team)
