ESPN’s current mock draft has 6 Kentucky players in drafting position and Ivisic at 70. Dillingham is on draft boards probably because they figure he could learn enough defense but that shooting talent is something you can’t teach. They probably do have that many NBA players. Have you watched the big league lately
They produced seven of the 22 players in this year's All Star game. Coach Cal and the Wildcats do an amazing job attracting top-tier NBA talent to Lexington, which is great but also has to be incredibly frustrating for fans of a Blue Blood that hasn't made the Final Four in almost a decade. They probably do have that many NBA players. It’s that pre-NIL money that attracted them to UK.They produced seven of the 22 players in this year's All Star game. When I played it was Coach Bartow and later came Dana Kirk at Memphis State. I want to tell you, Cal is no bench coach compared to them. When Cal was at Memphis State he absolutely recruited great talent. He got them to play hard but as an offensive coach he was ZERO. Just a used car salesman. I know we all say these guys are so young, but with the talent Cal has had at Kentucky that went pro he absolutely should have had more success. His players just when games on sheer talent not coaching. Obviously IMOThey produced seven of the 22 players in this year's All Star game. This guy gets it. He’s an awful floor coachWhen I played it was Coach Bartow and later came Dana Kirk at Memphis State. I want to tell you, Cal is no bench coach compared to them. You are correct. When he was in Memphis, he was the one buying all the drinks. He left Memphis and UMass with scandals never to look back. From people I’ve spoken with who know Cal, they say he’s extremely smooth, easy to be around, would be the type to light up a large room (even if people didn’t know who he was.) Seems like a great guy, and kudos to his success. He should be proud of himself, even though we can agree he has underachieved given his talent level.
I have met him. When he was at Memphis I saw him regularly. His routine was going to mass then around the corner to Gibson’s donuts to “hold court” is what I called it. He was always friendly, outgoing, and had the ability to remember names. I’ve never been a Memphis fan (he knew that but was still friendly) but I always enjoyed Cal. If I was driving and he was turning at the red light he’d always wave. The Memphis team will never be same IMO. I still LOVE beating him…especially when he was at Memphis .From people I’ve spoken with who know Cal, they say he’s extremely smooth, easy to be around, would be the type to light up a large room (even if people didn’t know who he was.)
