I love my Vols

I love my Vols, because I hate every other team, so I'm left with no choice.

Because I am an alumni, because I sat through the pouring rain to watch my Vols play, because I've waited in lines for hours to get tickets to only get standing room only options, because I walked a mile to class every day to get to my classes beyond the hill, because my wife is a Vol... because there's nothing like a football Saturday at Neyland stadium in the fall.

Because I grew up in Blount County. I went to VOL games when I was young and they are my team. No matter where i went in the world, during my 22 years in the service, I wore my orange proudly, ( as did many others by the way ). Even now in Alabama surrounded by that crimson, my orange is proudly displayed in the yard and worn by me almost all the time. Its funny how the Alabama A is just like the A that Alcoa uses. I love messing with the Tiders and saying, Hey is that an Alcoa Tornado hat? A VOL for Life even before the term became part of the program. GO VOLS :salute:

I've lived in Knoxville for as long as I can remember, and started watching Tennessee football when I was five. The first ever game I watched was the 2002 Tennessee-Arkansas game that went into 6ot's, and when Jason Witten caught the game winning touchdown I went ballistic. I have been hooked ever since, and have watched most every Tennessee game since then. I went to my first game the next year vs Duke in 2003. That experience sealed my fate as a VFL.

Because over 30 years ago John Ward made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up as he said : Ladies and Gentlemen all across the land "It's Football Time in Tennesssee!" I will never forget that feeling during a beautiful fall afternoon as long as I live!
