And you learned this from observation when you were 5?
Just because I'm young(compared to some) doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about

O'Neill's lack of talent was a result of Houston's recruiting. Everything Jerry Green accomplished was a result of the recruiting O'Neill did. Also, DeVoe made the NCAAs six times. I'm not sure that's so bad.
No doubt O'Neill had a bare cubbard when he got here. DeVoe had a nice career overall but it was getting tough in his last few years. He just could not recruit and ended up with some subpar teams. Compared to what we have been through since he left, it wasn't that bad. DeVoe was probably the best true basketball coach of the bunch.

Many wanted Devoe to join Buzz's staff to help out with fundamentals and D

Count me in that group. He definitely could not have made things any worse.

He is in town. He was on Sports Talk today but I didn't get to hear it. I also heard he was at the basketball game last week.

DeVoe had some very nice things to say about Bruce Pearl and the Big Orange today. He did say that he thinks the league itself is down this year with so many significant underclassmen leaving last year.

Was that a subtle way of saying now we stand a chance?

IMO what brought Devoe down, was his inability to recruit well, and he himself blamed that on the fact he ran a clean program, hinting everyone else wasnt.

I think it's 6 times in 11 years. I think he went to the NCAA his first 5 years then missed 5 in a row and then made it his last year. I may be wrong though.

The evidence proves Kentucky wasn't above board at that time.

You are actually right and way more right than the reasons I gave...i was just being a jackass with those other reasons I gave. Recruiting is THE reason devoe couldn't do it anymore...

I don't like the term "true" fan...I'm a fan that cares more than the average fan. I should'nt have said no one cares as much as me. There are some who do care as much as me...but none that care more.

tired of his wishy-washy crap...It's taken away press from the bball team. He's just one player...plus it will make Brent Hubbs cry
THANK U GOD. SOMEONE HERE OTHER THAN ME WHO IS TIRED OF RECRUITING.

if recruiting was exact, we would have like 10 national titles since 1990. let warren go play for that hasbeen Bowden. if they dont wanna come here, then we dont need them. lets keep up with this guy and see where he is in 4 years. my guess is jail.

CC, I really think we should leave out the stabs at recruits. IMO, it's low-class and, ultimately, detrimental to the program. We need to win, set a reputation, and recruit, recruit, recruit. . . .but if a guy wants to go somewhere else, shouldn't he have the right? The chance of a lifetime to go to any school in any state he wants. . . .for free. Cut the kids a little slack. Heck, I love East Tennessee, but even I had to get away for a few years.
