"I love Tennessee" - Bryce Brown

Wish he would've stayed.

I believe he would still be here if not for his father. I mean he pretty much makes that clear with this video. I wish he had said something sooner. That's been the problem with Bryce. We never heard his side of the story. It's good to hear him speak. I wish him well.

I thought he never met with Dooley re: the release and that was why he wasn't released. Article says they met and Dooley refused to grant release. Am I remembering this wrong?

They did meet. I believe Bryce was in town and didn't go see him. He texted CDD and then went home. His father made him go back to Knoxville and meet with Coach Dooley. I believe Bryce wanted to stay. His father made it sound like a life and death issue on a radio interview , which wasn't true. He was just trying to get what he wanted. Not what Bryce wanted. It would have been nice if Bryce had spoken his mind then. It changes any negative opinion I had about him. I can't say the same for his father.

Bryce would be the best RB on our roster if he was still here...it's too bad his Dad had to interfere with his career here at UT.

We can't choose our parents. But at some point, you have to stand up to them, while still showing them respect. Bryce will learn this at some point, hopefully.

You could tell at the time this went down that Dooley was fine with BB, but not the situation. I think Dooley didn't grant the release because he knew BB didn't want it and knew his dad would have to pay the price for meddling with his kid's career. It was the right move by Dooley and he was actually helping the kid out, even though he knew he was leaving. That speaks well to anyone else who wants to come here. You know you'll be looked out for.

This plus CDD needed to tighten up the ship

You can't make it look like it is easy to leave. Every guy who is not getting as many snaps as he think he should (i.e. 90% of the bench) will develop wanderlust

At some point you have to start making difficult decisions for yourself. You will live out the results/consequences not your father.

I would love to have a healthy and motivated BB in the UT backfield.
