I've been in basic training for the past 2 months at RTC Great Lakes, and as I sit here at the airport awaiting my flight to San Antonio for A school, I'd really appreciate a recap of everything football/recruiting related that has happened in the past two months... thanks in advance to anyone who can help me catch up

Nega-Vols: Our recruiting is in the tank. We have only 4 commitments that don't even have enuf talent to play for Carson-Newman. Fire Butch now!

Posi-Vols: Our recruiting is going great! Our current commitments should all soon be bumped up to 5 stars!!
Give Butch a contract extension now!!!

Truth: As usual, it's somewhere in between.

Well, let's see: First, the Earth cooled. And then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died and they turned into oil. And then the Arabs came and they bought Mercedes-Benzes. And Prince Charles started wearing all of Lady Di's clothes. I couldn't believe it.

He took her best summer dress out of the closet and he put it on and went to town...:)


You need a laugh after Great Mistakes.

Good ol Great Mistakes, I went to FT A school there, thanks for your service. Recruiting is going alright, big weekend for the O & W game. And its early, kids fall in love with every visit. Enjoy your time in, hope you get to see as much as I did. GO VOLS! GO NAVY

5 committed for 2018 class, incl 4 from Tn. I think we're in great shape for a lot of great recruits for Feb. looks like the NCAA will allow an early signing period in December & will allow a 10th asst coach starting in January. O&W game today. Dormady & Guarantano are in a neck & neck battle for starting QB. Trey Smith from Jackson will probably start as a true freshman in the fall.

Recruiting is a little different so far. It appears they are taking a different tactic. Things may pick up significantly this weekend though.

I remember my time at Great Lakes..good times. Kind of. You heading to San Antonio for MA A school?

As far as football, spring ball has been good. Lots of youth but lots of talent as well. QB competition is close. Kelly will be a good/great RB. Defensive questions are still there but we seem to have the right coaches to hopefully improve or fix it. Time will tell.
