Will some explain his deal to me? Just saw on the bottom line where he said that this past season had nothing to do with his retirement? Im calling bs. Of course, being a Vol fan I do not like Meyer. That doesn't mean that I do not respect him as a coach. All of it seems a little weird to me. Curious to know what Vol fans and Florida fans if they are trolling think about the situation?

His team was on a down hill slide... his offense was horrible this year with no sign of improvement, He had just won Big time with Tebow at the helm and now he has no idea how to turn it back around. It is better to quit while he still has people singing his praise than to risk another year like this last one.

If he quits now he can still go out as a BIG time winner.... and not take the chance of staying to long and leaving like Fulmer for example

He's a closet Brett Favre fan...we'll have to see what his next move is.

they guy always seemed too uptight to me - I don't think he understood the concept of balance. Having said that, he may have been guilty of believing his own press, and now doesn't know how to handle the rebuilding process... a process in which he is not always winning the recruiting battles, even in his back yard.

Well, I don't know if any other persona other than a soulful city-dwelling musician would fit Mayer. I think he's done well. Straying towards country music wouldn't fit him well. He's sold plenty of records doing what he does.

What, specifically, are these health issues he has, I have heard constantly brought up in conjunction with his first and second retirement?

Did I miss the "my tummy huwts" presser?

He was burnt out a year ago and he should have went with his gut then. Once a coach feels that way, it's time to go.
