At this point I'm ok with Fulmer coming back but I understand why most would not. I'm for Fulmer only 'cause I'm "settling" and peeved at the losers who've turned down our job up to this point.

So, realistically, I'm looking to the NFL for my next coach at this point.

Argue against this. I need to hear the debate as to why I'm wrong. Or right.

I think you are correct that we need an NFL guy before a mid major coach from who is left. Phil had a good run, but he is too far removed from the grind of coaching and fell way behind the curve.

True on Fulmer but could the best coordinators in the land offset his game skills? 'Cause he has the recruiting skills but I agree that I always felt like the coaching is where he fell short. Great talent....didn't do as much with it as he could have. We had freakin' Peyton Manning! But, again, coordinators to get that part of it done?

I just hope this isn't all a big setup for Phil to come marching home. Sounds quaint until we get waxed and have to fire him twice.

Yeh he may be available here shortly. Would hiring a Norv Turner be better or worse than hiring a top rated Coordinator in the NFL? I realize Notre Dame went that route with Charlie Weis and it didn't work out for them but it just seems to me that someone from the NFL or formerly from the NFL like what USC did with Pete Carroll.

Ken Wisenhunt might be looking for a job after this season. Although, he was an assistant at Vandy. Highly unlikely he goes to NCAA, but throwing a name out there.

A fair and certainly effective rebuttal. Stung just reading it.

But a fair rebuttal back to this is Bill Snyder. Don't you think?

Bill readapted himself. Phil Fulmer was too stupid to change the little things about himself, and his style. The game passed Phil by in 2001.
