I think our D should sit back it a 3 deep zone

Not a good idea. The underneath stuff would be wide open and we all know how good we are at tackling in open space.

Tampa-2 and bring a db in the box to get a little speed around the line of scrimmage. The Monte Kiffin defense and let someone play the EB role. Coaching from my PC is easy.:)

Just run a 4-3 Inside Fire Blitz..right trigger to crash line in..turn off offsides penalty and bring MLB around the side for a sack every time.

we need the three committed deep

vandy is not gonna line up and run over us

we need to be strong with our front 4

Can we also put it on easy mode?

We play defense like we have over this last month and we lose, end of story. Vandy is tougher mentally and that is the truth.

Just got torched for 400+ yards rushing with horrific D-line play and LBs running around like chickens with their head cut off. . . . and you want us to sit back in Cover 3? AJ Johnson would need oxygen by the middle of the 1st quarter chasing all those shallow crosses, slants, screens and swings and trying to stop the run.

UT has trouble tackling in space, so they should switch to a defense that requires more tackling in space...

I think the DC should start with the DL and experiment with personnel until he finds a group that consistently gets penetration and especially up the middle.

Most of us were optimistic that McCullers was going to get coached up and become disruptive. For awhile, it looked good. The debacle that is the last 3 games for this D starts with him being driven 8 yards off the ball on run plays and being lost on passing downs. It is time for that experiment to end. There are other DT's on the team that will at a minimum not stand up at first contact. You have Marlon Walls and Miller who have the size to play DT, experience playing DT, and some quickness that might make them harder to block.

At this point ANYTHING would be preferrable to watching OL's push UT's DL 5-10 yards off the ball making it IMPOSSIBLE for the back 7 to make a play at or near the LOS.

I have to agree with you on this. Hood is another one who gets blow 10 yards off the ball. Our DTs aren't stout nor are they quick

We'd still get blown 10 yards off the ball. Instead of outside , it'd be up the middle.

9 men in the box, blitz a different linebacker every play-
stop the run at all costs...Oh yea and get some speed on the outside to crash the play back to the middle. Vandy will be going to the edges just like everyone else who has gashed us there this year.

we should just have @ 4 guys running randomly @ the middle of the field in hopes that we accidently are running right where they are running a play. Like a 2 second head start. At least try to disguise a defense so the qb doesn't have 10 seconds to see that Cory Miller is going to be man to man on their rb with this zone blitz.

Who is capable of playing a EB role?
