Sure a lot of the anger and hostility, and calling for coaches heads has a lot to do with the Bama game. But this is much more than the performance of one game. We have underacheived all year on offense, and let's face it 2004 was a fluke. In 2002 we faced the same thing, only to have a mediocre performance in 2003. This team lacks fundamentals. That's what special teams is, an exercise in basic fundamentals (blocking, tackling, playing your assignment, etc.). We can nit pick every little detail of every game, but the fact is the job is not getting done. And hey, if we had all the answers, we wouldn't spend so much time on a sports chat board, but something major (pardon the pun) has to be done.

This is not a plea to save RS or PW or TT or PF, but who do you or anyone else see as coming to UT to take over the offense. I just can't see Fulmer letting it go to an "outside" person. I don't think that Cut is ready or wants it due to the sticky circumstance/health issues. This off season will be anything but "off" (I hope).

Thanks man..just viewed it after I added my post. How did TT do with Tulane's WR? Do you have any numbers on the time he was there?

I have heard from a reliable source that Cut may not be healthy enough quite yet.

(BTW, I think the Vols need more Cowbell)

During his time at Tulane (99-2003) the receivers averaged 270 yards per game, 25 TDs, and about 11 yards per catch. With his best stats during 2001-2003 with QB JP Losman (now at the Buffalo Bills, I think)

Tulane still sucked during that time. They had many more losses than wins and played panzy teams. You can blame that on their defense, though. Their D Sucked Really Bad. Those were the worst D's Tulane has ever had. Tommy Bowden was the best coach Tulane's ever had. But when Trooper was there was when their offense was one of the best it's ever been.

Well said.

Whats really bothering me at this point is, THIS IS NoT A REBUILDING YEAR. We arent going to be better next year.
Our best players are graduating, Malehona, P. Haralson, J. Allen, K. Simon, G. Riggs, etc.

We were not that good when we played UAB. That was a harbinger of what has now occurred.
