I told you Mizzou was very good

Look at my posts. So many of VN thought we were disrespected. Mizzou is a good team. Own up to it.

So you contend that the number 9 team is good?
You should be worshipped as a football god.
Did Lombardi speak to you from beyond the grave?

Mizzou will get beaten by 30 points against Bama.

Doesn't matter. The only thing that does is the fact that both teams are multiple light years ahead of UT and can literally name the score. If we play either team 10 times, we lose 10 times.

This may be the worst game, if that is possible, of the year on both sides of the ball. Six false starts, offenive line has not blocked anyone all night. The team acts like they did last year. Dropped passes, poorly thrown passes and no running game at all. Poor effort!

I was hoping for a closer game but with a freshmen QB in his first start and being on the road this was a possibility. It should have been closer.

It's called rhythm...it happens sometimes when you have a new starter at QB. The offense has been out of sync all game.

I understand that. My point was, they have a very advantageous sked and they are going to be exposed. I had hoped we could do it, but Ole Miss and aTm surely will.

Texas A&M quite possibly, not so sure about Ole Miss.

Honestly, I think that if Mizzou has enough momentum built up after beating Kentucky next week, they may well be able to beat Ole Miss, though I don't expect a blowout either way for that game.

Even if they don't win the SEC East, shooting for a 10 win season isn't a bad thing.

That and it will be a huge boost for their recruiting. I fully expect several prospects that have been looking at other major SEC programs to possibly switch to Mizzou instead.

I agree, I told family and friends all week it would be ugly and most didn't believe me. Most of Volnation had crowned Dobbs the Heisman winner before his first start, feel sorry for him. Our defensive and offensive lines were absolutely dominated.

They were just that much better period. We will get there in a couple years.

and our d is the slowest in the country, and would be exposed by their backup qb and speed, along with the quick turf.
I don't suppose someone will throw out 40 times as an argument again when I make that point a week before a game.
And yes, I want a cookie.

Missouri is good, but not that GOOD. Even Missouri defense is good, but not that GOOD either. Vols just missed opportunity which they could score couple or 3. They had one bad night. I guess it's the name of the game. Missouri going to lose to Ole Miss & Texas A&M

It's not so much that Mizzou is THAT good--but more that we DON'T match up with them AT ALL. To put it another way--our Secondary and LBs are really that BAD--and that's something that most folks don't want to hear.

The ONLY DB we have is Sutton....

I just can't figure out why our DC cannot seem to understand the concept of running a 3 deep zone with the lack of talent we have at LB and DB...zone coverage across the board keeps our LBs in position to stop the big plays from the QB run--and 3 deep should put a stop to the deep balls....good grief, just rushing 3 and dropping off into an 8 man zone would be better than giving up all of these big plays!

I don't believe in Jancek--

However, I think Dobbs is a bright spot and will play much better at home next week. And--I think we will be a much better OFFENSE next year....for many reasons :salute:

GO VOLS!

They'll also have their starting QB, Franklin, back by the Ole Miss game.

I never said they weren't "good". I said they did not have elite talent and they don't. They have and play a system... and they play with a mean streak.

That said, I felt pretty good about the teams' progress and direction after USCe. After last night... not so much.

I don't think it is good to spend a lot of time questioning or criticizing the coaching staff. That can hurt recruiting. But IMHO the defensive performance was much less a "talent" issue than a coaching issue. How many times did Mizzou have to run the same, simple play before the DC made some kind of adjustment? UT was literally beaten by a simple sweep play.

I am disappointed with the offensive mistakes but can more easily understand those. Dobbs played great at times but made critical mistakes. Those are fixable.

I would say that those who denied how much the WR's were hurting the team should have their eyes more open now. Dobbs threw two excellent balls that should have been big plays at critical junctures. North failed to make a play on one. J Smith had the other go right between his hands.
