We can win the East this year. For such a lopsided score, just a couple of plays decided this game tonight. We might not have won it anyway, but this should have been MUCH closer. The two plays I'm talking about are of course the .bs "no fumble" review and the decision to throw on that 3rd and goal. Call me crazy, drunk or whatever but I've got faith in this team.

I agree this game "could" have been closer, but it wasn't. They beat us BADLY on the lines, both sides of the ball.

Not totally out of the question if OU is a good as everyone thinks they are, our young guys grow and improve a lot over the bye week and season, and we clean up the drops/play calls/angles to the ball. A lot of ifs though.

The East is certainly wide open. Every team has glaring weaknesses.

The constant holding that wasn't called helped them keep our DL at bay.

As hyped as they are, they should have beat us like Oregon did last year. Starters should have been pulled by end of the 3rd.

^^ cleaning up dropped passes... we need some "quite probably illegal" sticky spray on those gloves. Some rather large receivers might also need a pillow sewn into the palm of their glove.

Kidding aside, if they get good coaching, all of the starters from tonight will become good, good players.

O-Line will cost us some games. We will not win East this year.

I do think we start next season as pre-season favorites to win east with all the young talent we have.

Butch has us on right track!!

Kentucky is much improved, Mizzou looked really good today, Florida is improved, Georgia and SCar are both very good. Gonna be a long, difficult year.

You're out of your freakin mind if you think this team can win the East this year. We will do well to win 5 ball games, and it will take a certified miracle for us to win 6 and go to a bowl.

I am proud of our team. We lost tonight but the guys never quit like they would have under Dooley. The sky is the limit we are not out of anything at the moment.

I totally agree. My wife actually left the room because I got so pissed about the lack of holding calls they weren't calling. I got a little too loud I guess.:realmad:

If Mahaoney can get the OL fixed during the next 2 weeks, then we do have a legit chance. This defense isn't to be trifled with. We might have the best LB's in the conference...AJ and Maggit are NFL level LB's. And Reeve's Mabin is all over the field.

100% agree with all of this. I'd also like to mention that I've NEVER seen a freshman class come in and make an impact like this one.

Agree with the OP, it is a possibility. Think about it, the 100yd pick six was a 14 point swing, and then the fumble gift that resulted in a TD that drive in the first half.....21 points....and its a different ball game. I hate playing the "if" game but its clear to me we are headed in the right direction and getting really close. Whoever it was that said you want to catch us early in the season may be right. This team is coming together and could be pretty good by years end.

I thought Worley, Sutton, Barnett, and AJ played solid games and they will get better and better.

Magitt looks like he hasn't played in more than a year. And why we continue to run the zone read....when everyone knows Worley is not keeping it is baffling. They should put the gps on Worley and see how much he runs carrying out a fake all by himself . A designed run play that doesn't include someone on the defense biting on a fake by Worley would he our line. That read play is to slow when your already having trouble blocking. The defense looked great, but when you are struggling to block and move the ball the hurry up and give it back offense is not good! Use the clock and for gods sake let them rest!
