You can thank Brian Kelly for that.
I thought that too at the very first and i didn't like the hire.
Then I did more research and saw that CBJ and staff lost alot of the BK recruits and brought in some good kids, coached them up and WON with the kids they recruited and coached some of them well enough that they're now in the NFL and some more will probably be rookies in the NFL next season after this coming draft.
CBJ said he would work hard to rebuild relationships with instate coaches and players and we see him doing that.
He said he would go hard after instate players that would fit his systems and make our team better and he just got 2 more commits and stole 1 of them away from Vandy which I also see as CBJ keeping his world.
He came in and interviewed CJG just like he would any other coach and CJG impressed him so he re-hired CJG to stay on as our RB coach and he's also a good recruiter plus he tried to get Tee Martin to come home to Tennessee to make our staff better but I think Tee used the Tennessee offer as a tool to get more money out of USC and never really wanted to come back to UT.
So far I like most everything CBJ has said and what's he's been doing so we just might have gotten lucky and gotten the right man to rebuild us back to where we belong.
Hard nosed, tough and demanding excellence from day 1 is what every Tennessee football coach needs to be and so far I see that in all our new coaches.
I see light at the end of the tunnel but it's going to take us 3 to 5 years to crawl our way back to the top in this total rebuilding process.
