It's hard to believe I'm watching my 2nd bowl season in a row with no Vols in the mix. I'm done blaming, pointing fingers, etc. I want the young men who don the Orange and White to experience the thrill of Bowl Season every year. Here's to our return to relevancy and the men who work their butts off to get us there. Go VOLS

At UT reaching a bowl game should be a gimme. The magnitude of said bowl would vary year to year.

I'm extremely bored in watching, but I keep noticing how much fun the players seem to e having during the experience. There's no excuse for our boys not getting that experience.

Exactly.

At this point in time, I do feel like we're headed in the right direction. But then again, I've felt that way before.

The thing that gives me more hope this time is the fact that our coach has a track record of winning everywhere he's been..

What gives me hope is that he came in talking about winning. That's his mindset. That's his goal. Not rebuilding. Just winning.

Winners know how to win period...we have a man that has proven he can at every school he has been at...he talks the talk and so far as a head coach flat out walked the walk. Very excited about his vision and mindset...can't wait to see this staff turn these young men into winners!

Nowadays, being bowl eligible means a .500 record. Being that we haven't hit that 2 years in a row is just damn pathetic.

Yeah it aint to hard to come in talking the way he has when someone else did all the hard work. Talk is cheap let's have him actually win consistently before hopes get way to high. Otherwise the Legion of the Miserable will destroy any chance of success.

The biggest joke of the bowl season is northern Illinois in the freaking orange bowl ! :birgits_giggle:

This has to be the worst bowl season ever. I haven't watched one singe game. Not one, and I usually pretty much veg out and watch them all. Just ridiculous, uninteresting match ups. Even the championship game seems dull to me. Butch HAS to get us back in the mix next year.

It's ok it was a necessary evil to skip bowling and getting Dooley fired instead. IMO I'll take Dooley getting fired then going to the liberty bowl lol

You can thank Brian Kelly for that.

I thought that too at the very first and i didn't like the hire.

Then I did more research and saw that CBJ and staff lost alot of the BK recruits and brought in some good kids, coached them up and WON with the kids they recruited and coached some of them well enough that they're now in the NFL and some more will probably be rookies in the NFL next season after this coming draft.

CBJ said he would work hard to rebuild relationships with instate coaches and players and we see him doing that.

He said he would go hard after instate players that would fit his systems and make our team better and he just got 2 more commits and stole 1 of them away from Vandy which I also see as CBJ keeping his world.

He came in and interviewed CJG just like he would any other coach and CJG impressed him so he re-hired CJG to stay on as our RB coach and he's also a good recruiter plus he tried to get Tee Martin to come home to Tennessee to make our staff better but I think Tee used the Tennessee offer as a tool to get more money out of USC and never really wanted to come back to UT.

So far I like most everything CBJ has said and what's he's been doing so we just might have gotten lucky and gotten the right man to rebuild us back to where we belong.

Hard nosed, tough and demanding excellence from day 1 is what every Tennessee football coach needs to be and so far I see that in all our new coaches.

I see light at the end of the tunnel but it's going to take us 3 to 5 years to crawl our way back to the top in this total rebuilding process.

VFL...GBO!!!
