I don't believe jack ****....I can't wait for all these "people in the know" to come up with their excuses why he didn't come here after all. Hell, I'm sure they have them already written down, just waiting.

I'm excited for the possibility, but don't have all my eggs in that one basket. Our AD has made it very clear we are going to reach out for someone who can turn this program around.

So if it isn't Gruden, I'm confident it will be someone who can the job done.

Your probably right. I'm totally down for a life time ban of all the "insiders" if this doesn't happen. IP ban them too so they can't just make a new screen name.

There an awful lot of smoke in any direction you look. I'm sure if you keep looking you'll see the fire soon. I sure hope so anyway!

I was very skeptical when the rumors first started but now, hearing that he has been assembling a staff for A job, I'm starting to believe.

I do think talks have been in place but I also think it can still fall through. This isn't the first time JG has flirted only to back out last minute.

So with that said, yeah, I want to believe but I'm prepared to be let down.

Yes we hear all the right things but when it comes down to it we will take somebody like Smart then in the press conference we will hear how one of the up and coming OC OR DC in the country came here to carry us back to the top, hope im wrong, but time will tell.:cray:

I completely understand your position. As an anthropologist, I recognize a revitalization movement or "messianic cult" when I see one, and Grudenmania has all of the earmarks of a classic example. If the prophecies come to pass, however, then we are dealing with the realm of facts.

I share your cautious optimism. There are a very limited number of people who truly have insider information. Until Dave Hart says, "The next head football coach at the University of Tennessee is _____," we will have to exercise patience and hope that our fervent prayers to the football "gods" are answered to our satisfaction.

I'm with the OP - When it's announced I'll hoot and hollar with the best of them. Until then I'll sit and wait - hopeful but guarded.

Our next coach is going to be Chuckie. You can believe freely.

How do you feel about this situation, BMFPV? This hire will blow everybody's skirt up but how do you think Gruden's approach will translate to the college game?
