I think you are missing the point I was trying to make.
No. I don't think I did. You said we should thank or appreciate them because in some way the class would have been worse if not for them.
My disagreement is that they are the reason UT was in the position they were in to start with. I don't appreciate them in the very least.
I was just trying to say that today is the day of the year that the previous staff will be missed, because I think we can all agree that they were much better recruitors than coaches.
Not altogether sure I agree with that either. They got alot out of the Vols this year. They had some slip ups but by and large the team played hard and disciplined football.
Also, I was not happy when they left and the things that have went on since Im just glad it didnt happen 24 hours earlier, so that we were able to keep our EE.
If they had known that they weren't going to be able to get the EE's... they probably would have pushed the timeline forward. IMO, that was simply a miscalculation on their part. They definitely thought the EE's could leave... thus O calling them while CLK ran cover.
So, yeah I am a VOL fan and have been my whole life so I dont need my head or heart examined...maybe just need to learn how to get my point across better lol. GBO
No. You need to get it out of your head and heart that CLK helped UT or in any way left the program better than he found it.
Outside of the EE's, UT's best signees are probably going to be guys that DD got commitments from- Hunter, Stone, Rogers, Lofton, etc. The most damaging losses will be guys that CLK went hard after and may have even played a part in getting them to commit somewhere other than UT or USC (Copeland, Williams, Smith, Lemonier, Green).
Saying you miss them today is like saying you miss your ex-wife on New Year's Eve who ran off with your best friend on Christmas Day.
