to let it be known that Josh Hamilton is a prima donna and a crybaby. Learn how to slide, idiot.

Of course, Reds fans have known this since he threw a fit when they decided to end the Jerry Narron tenure.

I don't remember the exact details but the short version is when Hamilton was a Red, Jerry Narron's brother Johnny (who had known Josh awhile) was hired basically as a babysitter for Hamilton because no one trusted him to stay clean or stay out of trouble. Jerry was fired. Josh threw a fit because he liked Jerry and he figured Johnny was gone too. Johnny left the next season. It was basically the reason Hamilton was traded and he made the Rangers bring on both Narrons when he got there.

I'm pretty sure alot of this is not true. We had some friends within the organization back during this time and as I understand it Hamilton didn't trust himself to carry around money or a wallet or wear a watch because he knew he couldn't handle money responsibly so the Reds hired Narron to help him and be his sidekick basically.

That's the version of the story that I heard most often.

Hamilton's fine in my book, but nobody's a robot. If he thought it was stupid, he shouldn't have gone. No MVP has to fear his 3b coach.

"I listened to my third-base coach," Hamilton said. "That’s a little too aggressive. The whole time I was watching the play I was listening. [He said],'Nobody’s at home, nobody’s at home.’ I was like, ‘Dude, I don’t want to do this. Something’s going to happen.’ But I listened to my coach. And how to you avoid a tag the best, by going in headfirst and get out of the way and get in there. That’s what I did."

If he thought it was a bad idea, he shouldn't have gone. Period. The 3B Coach is simply that: a coach, not his boss...

Nobody was covering the plate and there were two outs in the inning. You're a woman if you don't try to score on that play.

Convinced he will eventually crumble from the glare of the spotlight. Already seen the first act.

Heat of the moment, pissed off in general, felt like an idiot for doing it... Wouldn't have been the only guy to be mad afterwards.

The spotlight has been on him since 1999. I think he already had his CRUMBLE, right? The AL MVP seems to be a nice response to fighting off his demons.

I don't know what their 3b coach is like but the manager, Ron Washington is one of the worst in all of baseball. No wonder Cliff Lee an Vlad Guerrero got the hell out of town.

Agree completely, especially if the coach favors an aggressive baserunning style. Since the Rangers do, rolling the dice like that was the right move imo.
