But now I ask myself, was he right in fixing this country first, before we start trying to help fix other countries issues?? I scoffed at his foreign policy, and still question it, but given the financial mess we are in right now, was he really that far off base to begin with??

If he can control his obnoxious legions of college students, he might get some traction. But we just elected a cult of personality in 2008, I don't see the US making the same mistake twice, even if it is in the opposite direction.

I'm not Ron Paul's biggest fan either but one thing I agree with him on is the 'federal reserve transparency act.'

He gathered a majority of the house members to cosponsor that bill but Pelosi and company buried it in committee. (that included some democrat cosponsors since the dhimmicraps had a majority at the time.)

Now that the republicrats have a majority, if they don't pass the measure and send it to the senate, where it will get a lot more attention, instead of being buried by the media, I will be sorely disappointed in the republican party. (that wouldn't be a first by any means.)

Look at it this way, for 98 years there has been no comprehensive audit of the fed.

OTOH, the Dudd/Fwank bill places government, taxpayer funded, auditors in federal reserve offices that have the power to scrutinize the finances of American citizens right down to every dime, but can't even take a peek behind the smoke and mirrors workings of the federal reserve system.

Does this make sense to anyone?

I sure it does to some, please speak up!

It absolutely does make sense. I am a fan of transperency at almost every level and in nearly every governmental capacity that doesn't harm national security function. Both parties need to get their heads out of their asses on that subject.

It would be nice to know exactly what they do with our money wouldn't it? Not surprised the wicked witch of the west made sure it got buried. If we actually knew how much pork belly they slice up people might get really mad. Fat chance of this ever getting through congress. I like it though, just don't see it happening.

FWIW, there's something to be said about cleaning out your own closet before you clean out somebody else's.
