Holy crap, we got walloped! That's the ugliest game we've played all year. I concede that Mizzou is better than I thought.

That said, we lost this game not because Missouri is the "2nd best team in the SEC", but because Gary Pinkel came in with an excellent game plan. They exploited our Achilles' Heel more thoroughly than any other team this year.

We can't defend against outside speed or mobile QBs. I only watched the first three quarters (too depressing to sit through beyond that), but what I saw was Mizzou target our weakness nearly every single play.

Dobbs struggled a bit, but that didn't really surprise me. People are putting too much faith in our Freshman QBs. Butch wasn't holding them back just to save their redshirts. He's holding them back because they aren't ready and Worley is our best QB right now.

Is there any reason for optimism? Absolutely! Outside speed has killed us time and time again this season. We're losing because we need more talent, speed, and depth on D. That can be fixed with a few great recruiting classes. Likewise, Dobbs' poor play looks more like lack of experience. I expect our QB play will improve next year.

I'm still with Butch and think he'll turn us around! Most of the sports writers had us going 5-7 or 6-6 this season. Virtually no one picked us to upset South Carolina or Georgia (who we were within an inch of beating). The 1st year is always the toughest in a turnaround job. We knew it was going to be a bumpy ride.

I was wrong about Mizzou, but I've seen no evidence that UT is wrong about Butch! He'll get us back to competing again. It's not a straight path and we're going to have huge ups and downs in the meantime.

GO BUTCH and GO VOLS!

Hard to listen to Butch now and it's getting worse...you know...you know...you know. He just picked this up in the last couple of months. Must be hanging around Bobby Scott.

Worley is not the best QB, Mizzou is not the 2nd best SEC team. Everyone in the country knows the hitch route and wr screen kills us. Dobbs can't throw and catch the pass in the same play. We will win the SEC in 2014. Dobbs will lead the SEC in passing yards and North will be a beast.

I just don't understand the off play calling is predictable n def staff doesn't scheme well week to week so not all players this staff has some blame.

Dobbs is avg at this point he must grow

This is what it is

I think the reality is Mizzou is pretty good. I thought they were not that good. They are good. It happens. Move on to Auburn and hope fans make it a tough environment for Auburn and Vandy. Finishing 3-0 would be a fantastic boost for the program, and great for our seniors. 7-5 is possible, and I will take it happily.

More team speed and big nasty's on the O line and D Line and we will be back to winning. Skill players ( QB, WR and RB) look promising with what we have this year and coming in next year. Need lineman and sipped in secondary.

I am hoping for 6-6. Auburn is better than Mizzou.

Youth movement time IMO. Note to Jancek - when playing a spread offense with a running QB you always, repeat, always assign a LB to spy the QB. Make the QB beat you throwing the ball. You get paid the big bucks. You need to get it.

Note to Jake - your QB is allowed hand the ball off to RB's that run between the tackles. you don't have to fake, pull slow O-lineman or a TE, or run jet nothing sweeps. You don't have to fool the D - which you can't do anyway. The only way this game is a game is if you run the ball successfully and Dobbs throws 25 times or less. That was not how it is done. Did the USCe game not show you anything?

Armchair or not - coaching staff - we do observe your play calls, schemes and game plans. We have seen some horrendous coaching and playing for a half dozen years now. So we know what it looks like. That was it yesterday. No doubt about it. Still believe in you. But you have got to do better. This is the SEC. Big leagues. Get with the program.

You guys are psychotic. A few weeks ago, Butch was the Second Coming and now he is the anti-Christ. You guys that thought Dobbs was going to lead the team like Heath Shuler or Tee Martin weren't realistic. In thought he played fine-some freshman mistakes but he is a freshman. I saw some real positives from him.

It was one of those games where we weren't ready to play--not sure why but that's what happened. It shouldn't happen but it does. I'm sure every coach and every player realizes they did a poor job yesterday but it is time to look ahead. Don't quit on this team--despite yesterday's debacle, I don't think they will quit.

Ps. I just hope Tiny keeps his mouth shut.

I was wrong too. I had a gut feeling they would beat Mizzou. It felt like any momentum type play we could have made was negated by a drop or penalty. Very frustrating. But I saw a lot of potential in Dobbs. The run he broke was pretty nice and he got little help from his receivers.

As far as the offense goes...IMO as the game went on win or lose the staff was running everything for game speed experience for Dobbs. Gotta make this kid is ready to beat Vandy and Kentucky for sure. Going bowling is more important than anything right now! Bigger picture is just that....bigger :eek:k:

Reality can be hard to deal with. We're just not that good right now as a whole, but Butch has some excellent talent coming in. It takes some time but we'll get there. Already this year is better that the previous five years combined.:hi:
