This weekend was my 6 y/o’s first time at Neyland. He was jacked up after last weekend to get to go. He kept telling people at the stadium that we beat Alabama (even though that was a week ago). I didn’t mind. After a packed day, this kid bleeds orange more than ever.

The day included:
1) Vol Walk - he was pumped to give Hyatt and high-5, even more pumped to give Smokey one.
2) Vol Village - games and cheerleaders. He was pumped about both (my man)
3) Vol Shop - new shirt and foam finger (pretend to pick nose with it-classic)
4) Popcorn - massive bucket for fan fuel. (Bucket ended up as hat - another classic)
5) Vols win - Self-explanatory. Watch vols beat UT Martin.
6) Fell asleep on the way home holding foam finger.

Great day! Go Vols

Awesome!! I am looking forward to taking my 5 and 7 yr. olds. I haven't been to a game myself in quite a few years now. How cool it will be to watch my kids experience it fir the first ( of many hopefully ) time. How proud and happy you must be. Congrats!

Man that is beyond awesome. Times like those are the reason I am all vol today, going to games with my dad and having a blast
What’s cool about that is when they get older and have their own family’s and text you pics of them at the Bama game. I had to work but I know I raised true Vols fans and they are raising future Vol fans. Circle of Vol life.

My daughter is 14. I have been taking her to a game every year since she was 4. This year we also included an 8 year old boy of some family friends. he loved his first Neyland experience and has watched every Tennessee game on TV since going that day. After the Bama game he had to call his grandparents in Illinois and asked if they watched the Tennessee/Bama game. They said they did, "I've been in that stadium" he bragged.

Love to read this!!

I'm taking to my 8-year old son to his first game Saturday! Can't wait until he sees the Vol Walk.

I still remember my first game that my dad took me to back in 2007. I was 15 and up to that point I was just a casual fan (I was more of a fan of basketball) but that day in Neyland watching us beat Arkansas is what made me fall in love with the Vols and football.

I think you need to think seriously about the physiological damage you are doing to your son. It is our jobs as fathers to teach our kids how to do things right and to set proper expectations for them as they grow up.

Although you had the best of intentions when you setout to take him to Neyland, I do think you have made a serious error in judgement.

This team is so fun to watch putting up a 50 ppg average even scoring that against those “tough” defenses like Alabama, quite simply he will always bleed orange with an expectation that the vols will always have such a fun and winning team to watch. The expectations being set this year, he will simply never get over.

Man, this is beautiful. My son will be 4 next year, and I can’t wait to take him as much as possible. Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it…

The lad is 6.

Josh Heupel is 44.

By the time Josh Heupel retires at age 77, the lad will be 39 years old. He will have children of his own.

Worry not for this lad, but for his lads and lasses. They're the ones at risk. This lad is going to see championship football for decades to come.

I'll see your blue font and raise you a Vols orange font!

Go Vols!
