What happened to all the OGs and their guarantees and sources? At least we're all on the same page. We'll know who our coach is when we read about it.

Well this season not much to say really. Kind of lost steam after the uf game. But....new year new coach....should be interesting

Sometimes I wonder why some of the VN members don't just apply for the coaching positions? They seem to have it all figured out anyway....

Exactly. I'm sick of always having a coaching disadvantage against our rivals. Arkansas went out and got an elite proven winner homerun hire. But we're going to go with another guy who people are already making excuses for?

"Yeah his recruiting doesn't look good at ____, but when he's at UT it will turn around", "Yeah, he lost to _____, but when's he's at UT, it will be different.", "Just think about how great those teams were that he was an assistant on...", where have we heard all of this before?

Better resume than fedora. Not convinced gundy can cut it in sec. Gruden said no. In no way shape or form am i jealous of ark. Great hire though.

Short of gruden or fisher suddenly having change of heart this is a good decision if it does come to fruition.

You get more delusional by the hour. 5 losses in the VERY weak big ten, should have lost to Utah St, yet suddenly he is a "elite proven winner homerun hire". Strong look better that this guy at every level, except acceptance to southern country clubs. BB has no experience recruiting in the southeast. His best win this year is Nebraska, who he also lost too this year. His second best win this year is Illinois. What excuses would you present if we hire a 7 and 5 big ten coach? "Don't worry guys, he can't beat OSU or Penn St but he will flourish against ALA,FLA,UGA and USC"?

Bielema has taken Wisconsin to 3 STRAIGHT ROSE BOWLS. Who has ever done that at Wisconsin? He's got a 73% winning percentage with a Big Ten schedule. Compare that to Strong's 63% winning percentage with a Big East schedule.

For me at least this decision would have some merit. Hes got prove success at sec level as coord. Great recruiting background in fl and sc....two places we need to get better in. And hes taken steve kragthorpes leftovers and turned in conf champ/bcs bowl team.

When all is said and done i think this could be a good move. It will not please everyone however. No hire would. So to each his own.

Show me proof his schedule is tougher than the big east. He is going to the Rose bowl this year because OSU is on probation. Nothing about him looks like an SEC winner. Strong also took over a team in much worse shape, improved them quickly from 4-8 to 10-2 in 3 years, recruiting heavily from FLA to the Big East, not easy to do. No way is Bielema a home run nor is he an elite hire.

You guys are crazy! Strong is going to be a great coach! He is a much better coach than anyone is giving him credit for! You will see!! There are not many defensive minds as good as him. I liked him when he was at fl with his recruiting he did there yr in yr out top defense in the league. He turned Lou from nothing to something.
