What’s the story on her this season? I can’t recall if she got injured or what? Thanks

#VFL Marta. I had looked forward to your return next season. However, since we never quite found your niche, I do understand the logic of a fresh start.

I personally think you can be a point guard or point forward in the right situation. Your ball skills make you into a face the basket player.

Best of luck! And, continued prayers for mum.

That’s good, we can fill the position with someone productive.

We really don;t know what Marta could have done. she started out well as a freshman and then got injured---
  • Earned SEC All-Freshman Team honors in 2020-21 after playing 22 games and starting the first 14 for the Lady Vols.
She missed her sophomore season due to injury and then just about all of this season due to personal reasons.

And to the earlier post, who knows why Marta decided to transfer. It could have been for all sorts of reasons perhaps not even related to basketball.

I know its hard, but when a player exits the program either due graduating (ala Horston) or transferring (ala Suarez) maybe take the "high road" instead of feeding that dark impulse to get just one last stinging barb in as the player is heading out the door.

Southern hospitality ya know,

I’m just going to give my energy to players that wanna be here, and don’t quit on their team.

Transferring is not exactly quitting on a team (or more accurately that is a really negative way to look at the situation).

Its seems kind of hypocritical to welcome Jackson, Powell, and Hollingshead and hope that Kellie makes a big signing in the transfer portal and then bash one of our players who decides she needs to start over some where else, via the transfer portal. Plus, her mother has been battling cancer during her entire time as a LV. If anyone deserves some empathy and understanding, it is Marta Suarez.

And isn't taking a barb at Suarez an investment of energy?
