RECRUITING COORDINATOR: Running backs coach Stan Drayton can add the title recruiting coordinator to his resume. This is a move that I like for the Gators. Back when the Gators were putting together the 2007 recruiting class that included the seven Lakeland kids, I got to see Drayton in action up close and personal. I really liked the way he interacted with those kids and without even asking became a father figure for Chris Rainey told me plenty. In talking with Mack Brown on Thursday, I was impressed with the way that Drayton has stepped in quickly to build a relationship in which there is already a very large measure of trust. If there is one thing that speaks success when it comes to recruiting it’s the ability to build trusting relationships quickly. I would say Urban Meyer has put Florida’s recruiting in good hands.

yeah he was such a great guy telling recruits to go elsewhere and all.

We traded Stan for Gran and never really knew if either could really coach. We do know they can recruit.

rex you are the biggest closet gator fan on here. Nothing Stan Drayton has ever done warrants you missing his presence on our sideline. Keep this gatorbait crap off of here, it has literally nothing to do with Vol Football or Recruiting.

I don't miss Stan Drayton at all - he would be a downgrade to this current staff.

Rex, who would you get rid of currently to have Stan come in?

You know coaches have to actually coach, aside from recruiting, right?

If so, I don't see how you can miss Stan Drayton...

You saw what Gran did this year with Hardesty and you're wondering if he can coach. Why dont you ask Deuce, Cadillac, Ronnie Brown, Rudy Johnson, etc., whether or not Gran can coach.

lol. I misread the thread title as "I wish we hadn't lost Satan". .... That would've been a big loss, he's gonna be on fire next year.

First thing I thought of was that Eminem song. Yeah I wish we wouldn't have lost Stan either. I mean, he tied up his g/f ,threw her in the trunk of the car, got hammered, took sleeping pills and ran off a bridge, but hey, he was a nice guy!
